Carry-a-Tune MP3 Player Review

This is a great product. My two-year old loves music but destroyed two CD-players by constantly pressing the buttons and opening and closing the units; I was searching for a durable MP3 player without lots of buttons and "Carry A Tune" is exactly what I was looking for. It is easy to hold, durable (has been dropped and even thrown down a flight of stairs and still worked) and allows you to download your own MP3s or children's music CDs onto it. The buttons are simple but still a little bit beyond my son's understanding. An excellent feature is the auto-off feature which saves batteries. Battery life is pretty good.
We discovered recently, however, that the unit is not waterproof when it was dropped into the bathtub by my son. Of course, it is not supposed to be waterproof. We love this so much I am going to buy another one.

Sing-A-Long CD Player Review

Sing-A-Long CD Player

We've had this cd player for a year with two young children (now ages 2 and 4), and it's held up great. We've even packed it (carefully) in suitcases to take on plane rides, and it's still going with no trouble. I like the "hold" switch in the back which basically shuts down the button operation so that no matter how much the kids press the buttons, it won't respond (so it keeps on playing just as I had intended when I first hit play). Of course, you can flip off the hold switch and let the kids do as they wish. The microphones are fun, but the cords are a little short so they give feedback until the child figures out that they need to walk a little further away from the cd player (which they can, but my kids don't generally do so). We mostly use it just as a cd player for now and don't use the microphones all that much yet. Also, you will definitely need an ac adaptor as it eats batteries. We got one at Radio Shack (bring the cd player with you as they'll need to see it to get the exact right adaptor for it.....there are more choices than you'd realize). Overall, we're quite pleased with this and actually looking to buy a second one.

Fisher-Price Nursery Rhymes CD Player Review

We bought this for our youngest daughter at Christmas when she was 6 months old. She is still playing with it at 16 months old. It can keep her occupied for long periods of time, especially if her older sister is sitting with her. It has cute sounds and the songs aren't too annoying. There is a volume control so that is always a plus. You have to watch it and make sure it doesn't stay on, otherwise the lights will keep flashing indefinately.

The Nursery Rhymes CD Player is a take-along infant learning toy that teaches your little one nursery rhymes, first words, animal names and sounds. Your baby simply presses the center button to send the CD spinning around while the three colored lights dance. When it stops on one of five animals, it sings an appropriate nursery rhyme. Your little learner can then press the three lighted buttons on top to hear the animal name, the sound and hear the nursery rhyme again. Also comes with bangle beads on the side for additional play. Requires 3 "AA" batteries (included).

Ecotronics Eco Boombox Review

My one year old got this as a gift for her 1st birthday. She usually loves musical toys, so we let her have this toy right away. She had a great time watching us wind the back for about two minutes. She was clapping her hands with her eyes wide open. The actual toy was quite a let down. The music volume is very low. The largest button is the "radio" which just plays static (like when you are between radio channels). The buttons don't always work. The toy only lasts about 15 minutes after a 2-3 minute charge. I also broke my thumbnail off while winding the toy.

Crank up the tunes! Crank-powered toy radio features 3 song buttons, 4 sound buttons and an applause button as well as an On/Off switch. Activities help develop motor skills: turn the antenna ("Click, Click, Click!"), turn the dial or spin the rattle ball on the front ("Ting, Ting"). Hand crank stores flat into back of toy. Ages 3 & up.
