(More customer reviews)It's Megabloks. You know what you are getting, a Lego Clone (Duplo Clone in this case). Compared to Lego it's cheaper in quality and design (and price though). But if you're looking for Kai-Lan toys, these Megablok toys are the way to go. More use of imagination playing with this toy (and other Megabloks) than the Fisher Price Kai-Lan toys cause you can build various things. Our daughter loves the twirling elevator. The bamboo trees look pretty nice as well.

Fisher-Price iXL Learning System Software Ni Hao, Kai-lan Review

(More customer reviews)My three year old son loves the material that comes with this software. The snack game will keep him entertained almost endlessly. Kai-lan's voice patiently guides him through all the instructions. The other games included are still a little bit too old for him, but I was extremely happy he has no problems with the snack building game. We own the Toy Story software as well and both of the games there are WAY over his head.
The storybook is very cute. If you're not familiar with the Ni Hao Kai-lan show, Kai-lan has many different animal friends, all of whom have specific personality traits that cause them to run into trouble from time to time. In addition to introducing young toddlers to Chinese culture, the show also examines emotions and how to control them. The software is an excellent extension to the game, using the voices of the characters on the show, unlike some of the other iXL software.

Mega Bloks Dragon Boat Review

(More customer reviews)We bought this to go with the Kai-Lan 75-piece "super set" mostly to get the special pieces (the boat, the Rintoo figure and a couple others). I think it might be a little limited on its own because there aren't that many plain regular pieces but otherwise the worst criticism I can make is that the color variation between the two sets occasionally makes mix-and-matching a little hard for the OCD amongst us. The size works out well for us as my daughter at 2 1/2 is not yet ready for Legos but is quite dextrous and is well past the big basic Mega Bloks. She is just starting to get into imaginative play but since her mother (i.e. me) has no imagination whatsoever, basing our games on the themes and storylines of a cartoon she enjoys makes it much easier to wing it. We tried several other types of build-rebuild toys before including Clipos and Krinkles but this is the first one she seems to have got the hang of. One caveat: the flowers and the small round flat 4-peg pieces are potential choking hazards so if buying for a young toddler (or one just still in the habit of putting things in their mouth) I would take them out and put them away somewhere safe until the child is a bit older.

Mega Bloks Ni Hao Kai-Lan's Buildable Bedroom Review

(More customer reviews)My daughter's been getting more into building things and pretending lately, and when I saw Kai-Lan's Buildable Bedroom for an incredibly low price on clearance, it was an obvious buy. For parents who are worried about their kids eating the smaller Lego pieces, or just plain losing them because of their size, this is a good option. And of course, if they like Kai-Lan too, it's even better.
What you see on the box is exactly what you're getting- there aren't any extra pieces included, which is kind of a downer, but because you can put the bedroom together in different ways, it's sure to extend the toy's life a bit. You get pieces to make the actual room, part of the roof, and a little outdoor area with a fence/gate. And of course you get Tolee, Kai-Lan and Hoho. These characters are a good size and look great for being 'just' kid's toys. They have a hole in their feet so they can fit onto the other pieces, and you can move their heads as well. Their heads are on tight, so there's very little chance of them popping off and being a choking hazard.
There aren't any stickers to put on the bedroom walls or anything- they're already on their respective pieces. Basically, you just get the blocks and figures. Everything's colorful and cute, and my daughter loved putting things together with me, and making super flowers (flowers stacked on top of eachother to make one big one). If you have the other Kai-Lan building sets, this is an excellent addition.
Good construction, learning potential, great quality on the figures, and it's Legos for kids. This would be a great present for any fan of Kai-Lan. Now why can't the Backyardigans or Wubbzy get toys like this?

However, my 2 yr old daughter loves to see all the things that could be shared between friends, and now talks about sharing these things with us. It has become one of her favorite recent catchwords, and so I am satisfied that the book is at least a useful tool for us to use to guide her in learning about the important social skill of sharing.
