Trumpet Review

Sure this one's a bit more than the other toy trumpets. But we had this one, it broke (after a year of daily use by our 1.5 year old boy). We replaced it with the cheaper one which broke in just a few weeks.
I just surprized my son with this one for his 3rd birthday. He was so excited to have his trumpet back.
If you looking for a toy trumpet that feels like real and has a nice sound - you will not beat this one!

Saxophone Review

My (now) 3-year old daughter began asking for a saxophone about two or three months before her birthday, and eager to raise a real-life Lisa Simpson I immediately went to Amazon.com to search for a suitable toy; the "Deluxe Childrens Saxophone" was the first item I found, and I thought it was perfect. My daughter loves the toy; it is durably contstructed, colorful, lightweight, and easy to use; it makes real music (it has an octave range of in-tune notes, you can pick out simple melodies on it) that is neither loud nor annoying. My daughter consistently enjoys playing with it--it's still in her "heavy rotation" of toys nearly a month after her birthday--and I think it is an ideal introduction to the fun and joy of making music. I hope this will motivate her someday to play a real saxophone! HIghest recommendations!!!!

4 Key Trumpet Review

4 Key Trumpet

I guess I'm disappointed with this one. Maybe my expectations were too high when considering that the price is pretty low. It does not play that many notes, considering there are 4 keys. The keying is not similar to a real trumpet at all. Combine that with how clunky and sticky they are, and you really can't make music with it. The sound is really weak and not at all like a trumpet...it sounds like a kazoo. The worst part for me is that you don't buzz your lips to make it play like a real trumpet either. My 4 yr old can blow a real trombone properly, and couldn't make this thing work very well, because you don't buzz your lips...you just blow hard. She got it for Christmas, and has used it maybe twice. It's a decent trinket at best.
