(More customer reviews)I bought this toy for my four year old who is deaf and is learning to hear with a cochlear implant. We are often trying to find fun toys that we can use with her to work on her auditory skills. She also needs a lot of help learning to follow directions.
Yes, the scoops do topple. That is the point - and is great for her motor skills. Right about the time she is starting to get bored, they fall off which she finds hilarious and we start over. Don't buy this toy for kids younger than three (as suggested on the box). Four seems the perfect age.
You *will* have to play with your kid, unless you have older children that might want to play. There is no real "winner" thought you could design the game that way if you wanted to I guess.
The volume is adjustable and goes from very loud (default) to quite soft. Note - the volume is also the off switch. Took us awhile to figure out.
Love that we were able to use this to teach her new terms like double scoop, triple scoop, etc. The game will say, "Make a double scoop. That's two scoops!" to help explain as well.
