Her grandfather and I had all the tools that were need to assemble in the box outside of a phillips screwdriver. The instructions were easy to read and has pictures of the assembly instructions! Our granddaughter was so happy and surprised when we finished putting it together. We thought we would have time, but be prepared to assemble it with plenty of time if you're trying to surprise the birthday person. Not difficult, just time consuming when you're amateurs. Overall, we were very pleased with the shipping time (within the time frame), packaging, instructions, product and many smiles with a lifetime of memories....8-)
