Now that she's gotten the hang of matching the shapes with the right hole, we have started organizing them by color and size. When my ten month old nephew comes to visit, he plays with the little foam pieces UNDER CLOSE SUPERVISION. I don't have to worry about him chewing on the pieces because I can just was them in hot water. My four year old son has played with it, but it didn't hold his interest for very long. I would recommend this toy for younger toddlers
