(More customer reviews)My nephew loves ice cream trucks. I couldn't find one in any stores (I would think that would be a popular toy item for kids.) I found this one through Amazon. It's great. My only complaint: You can only activate one button at a time. So if you press the button to make it move foward, then press the button to make the infamous "ice cream truck song" play, it stops moving forward. It would have been great to set the thing in motion while it plays the song. Oh well. He's 3 and loves it. Thanks! JP

(More customer reviews)I bought a plasma car for each of my boys, (ages 6 and 4). They enjoyed them for about an hour. I really thought they would be easier to propel than they are. If you are on any bit of incline it is almost impossible to make the car go without using your feet on the ground. It is fun to find a small hill and coast down, but coming back up is a pain. I have even tried to find really flat pavement and still you are at times practically not moving.

When he goes to daycare, they have a toy vacuum cleaner there and he runs in the door asking where their "baccum keener" is! :-)

iPlay Cool Tools Activity Set Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this for my son who is almost two and a half because he has a big interest in tools. I chose this one over some of the more realistic sets because he has a baby brother on the way and I didn't want to get him something with too many choking hazards. I also liked that this has screws and bolts so he can practice actually using the tools.
Pros-
-cute talking shape sorter
-screw driver, hammer, and wrench can actually be used with the accompanying bolts, screws, and nails
-cute carrying case to contain all parts
Cons-
- TOO LOUD! This toy does not have a volume control and when the child turns the gears it plays children's songs at a high volume.
- no on/off switch. It would be nice to be able to turn the sound feature off, so the child could just practice the mechanic aspects of the toy.
- Toy does not come with the molded plastic insert shown in the picture. My child can rarely get all of the tools to fit inside by himself.
- The drill makes realistic drill sounds, but the bit does not turn. How hard would it have been to make that happen?
My child is enjoying this toy, but it is still fairly new. If I had had a chance to try it out before buying, I think I would have picked something else.

Phil Doll Review

Yes, you CAN remove the hat! It's not attached in any way to the doll as is so often the case. The doll is absolutely delightful and much cuter in person than in the pictures. The materials are very soft and the colours are vibrant and well coordinated. I especially love the hair. It's soft and yet won't tangle as so many other types of hair fibers do. Overall, the doll seems to be very well designed and made.

Manhattan Toy Dress Up Review

(More customer reviews)First, I'm going to copy the "features" list found on the tag that comes attached to the toy. It reads: "try my snap, button, fabric fastener and buckle! - I have a fabric pirate sword in my pocket - I have a parrot friend! - zip and tie my shoes to help you learn!" They didn't come right out and LIE about it, but the following list of PROS and CONS will help clarify what you REALLY get.
PROS:
~ Adorable from top-to-toe! He has a really cute face, an attractive & colorful outfit, & the eye-patch & the parrot are nice touches, too.
~ Well-made, mostly (Please read the list of "CONS" for further info).
~ The selection of fabrics look AND feel great.
~ The snap & button work well, & the pocket with the button is a real, usable pocket.
Adorable? Yes...no doubt about it.

Interesting to my child? Nope...chalk up one FAIL for the parents, but there are other, more tangible issues to be aware of.
CONS:
~ About the "mostly" part regarding how well made the toy is, here's the deal...THE BUCKLE. It only LOOKS like a buckle; it performs in no way like one would expect a buckle should. It's an over-the-shoulder strap with a faux, plastic, non-buckling buckle, with a tiny square of Velcro (or "fabric fastener" as they must have to call it) located on the underside of the strap. Educational? Barely. It's been used maybe three times, and the stitching along all but one side of the Velcro square is gone. It's now a flap of Velcro rather than a patch. Having said that, the rest of it is so well made, I have to believe this might be a fluke.
~ It's way more petite than I thought it would be. There's not much to work with, really.
~ The zipper shoe is only 1 1/2" long.
~ The laces -that can't be used to lace- are only 4" long, thick, & awkward with which to work.
~ I don't get the purpose for the dagger other than decoration. It's attached to the inside bottom of the pocket with a thick piece of elastic so when you try to pull the dagger out, the pocket gets all scrunched-up.
We'll keep it because we have a "thing" for pirates, and it's a really cute doll that looks good on the shelf.

Tonka Wheel Pals Triple Track Tower Review

(More customer reviews)My 2 year old hasn't stopped playing with this toy since we took it out of the box. He absolutely loves putting the cars on the starting blocks and pushing the button to watch them go down the hills.
The cars seem very durable. They are a softer plastic (but not too squishy) and have nice big wheels. They're a perfect size for 2 year old hands to hold onto and push around.
You can turn the sound off, which is a nice feature a lot of toys seem to forget to add these days. The tracks also seem durable. They are "connected" at the top and the bottom of the ramps so we have not had any ramps coming loose and frustrating my son.
Overall, a very simple toy but it has bright cheery colors and it's very toddler friendly. Even my 4 and 8 year olds are trying to take it over to play it and have races. I think it's a sure hit for any child and it has a very attractive price.

Little Tikes TotSports Easy Hit Golf Review

(More customer reviews)This is a very simple and durable golf set for toddlers. It is easy to assemble and simple to use. We got this set for our son when he was two year old, but he didn't play with it very much because his motor skills weren't developed enough to really have fun with it. He would try to hit the ball and miss it a lot, which was very frustrating for him. He likes it much more now that he is almost three and he can hit the ball more consistently in a direction of his choosing.
I would recommend this toy for toddlers at least three years old rather than the two years recommended by the manufacturer.

I also like that it turns off on its own when she leaves it on. I don't like that she can change the play mode, because the games are over her head right now. It also announces its name("Hooked On Phonics Smart Sticks") every time you turn it off or on, whichcan get annoying. I also don't like that it does not have any volume control because it is pretty loud. I recommend this toy to my friends!

Playskool Chompin' Mike the Mower with Bonus Zip the Trimmer Review

(More customer reviews)My daughter loves the mower and the trimmer. People have complained about the toys being flaky and non-responsive, but we haven't found that to be the case on ours. The trimmer always works when you push the button and the mower always works when the wheels move and it is turned on. The trimmer doesn't always stop talking very quickly, but it is completely responsive.
That being said, the mower is L-O-U-D!!! In fact, the mower itself is so loud, that it is pointless to turn on the electronics because you can barely hear it talking over the bang-chomp-clang that the mower makes. You can turn off the electronic noises for the mower, but like I just stated, that isn't the loudest part, so that feature is pretty much pointless. I would LOVE this toy if if wasn't so darn loud. It stays in the closet unless we are going to be playing outside and tolerate the noise.
Unfortunately, you can't turn off the trimmer. If you bump the trigger, it goes and there is nothing you can do about it (other than take out the batteries). Other than the inability to turn off the trimmer, everything else about it is great. My daughter loves it. We are still on the original batteries that came with the toys. That isn't saying much about the mower since it stays in the closet the whole time, but it says a lot about the trimmer because it gets a workout around here :D

There are many settings like: clocks, music, simon says, directions, spelling and phonics. I really like the music button. My son likes to dance to the music of all the songs I have sung to him. I find it a good value due the variety of activities. It also fits on his lap and is very portable. I love watching him learn while having fun.

Caterpillar CAT Rock Mover Track Set Review

However, an hour after getting it out my 3 year old came running to me screaming with the truck hanging from her finger. Her finger got to close to the gear on the bottom of the truck that makes it move on the track and it didn't stop spinning until it sucked her finger in. It left her with a big blister. I stuck my finger in it to see what it would do. It sucked my finger in too and boy did it hurt. Today my son picked up the truck while it was on and got his finger pinched too. Being a toy for kids 18-24 months you would think this wouldn't be an issue. What happens if a toddler puts the truck in his/her mouth? I took the truck away and will be contacting the company about the issue.
