Fisher-Price Smart Cycle Review

Fisher-Price Smart Cycle
Average Reviews:

This product has 3 main flaws:
1) The machine doesn't remember what work the child has done once it has been turned off. Consequently, when your child plays with it again they have to start at the very beginning of every activity every single time. This means they'll be doing the exact same word lists in the exact same order each time.
2) The machine doesn't store user names to allow differentiated play. This means that our 3 year old, 5 year old, and 7 year old have to each do the same games in the same order. It would have been much better if you could select what level play was appropriate for each player.
3) Most importantly, the machine suddenly crashes and turns off if a child pedals very energetically. Since the whole point of the toy is to get them to pedal fast while playing games, this is hugely frustrating. Especially because the child has to start over again at level one after the machine is turned off.
Overall, this toy is fun but could have easily been much improved. Our 3 year old is most enthusiastic about it, it's best academically suited for our 5 year old, and is too easy for our 7 year old but she still wants to play with it. Although kids pedal while playing a few (not most) of the games, don't think of this an exercise bike. The "exercise" they get is very modest. Think of it as an active educational toy.

Fisher-Price Disney's Dance Star Mickey Review

Fisher-Price Disney's Dance Star Mickey

Dance Star Mickey is simply the must own toy for the holiday season in 2010. If you have the money or if you love Mickey Mouse, you will not find a better toy. It's so worth it. The motion is absolutely breath taking. There are six different dances including a cool moonwalk and 2 interactive games called Freeze and Mickey Says. My favorite part: When Mickey talks and sings his mouth opens and closes with each word. It's completely in-synch. I'm not afraid to admit it but Mickey has cooler moves than me. The folks at Fisher-Price have outdone themselves.
The only problem with it is that it is powered by batteries but these are included. If your Mickey stops in the middle of the song, his batteries probably ran out. I've found to conserve the battery it's best to switch Mickey off with the switch located under his foot when done playing. Also the moonwalk works best on a hard slippery floor. He actually does slide smoothly across the floor thanks to the wheels underneath the toy's feet.
There is no way to describe how amazing this toy is until you see it for yourself. No matter what your age Dance Star Mickey will make you smile. Even after reading how amazing it was, it still blew me away. Very few products do that.

Mini Hokey Pokey Elmo Review

Mini Hokey Pokey Elmo

I have a 2.5 year old daughter. She has been watching Sesame Street DVDs almost since she was a little baby. She loves Elmo in Sesame Street, and she loves this toy, too. She is entertained by Hockey Pockey Elmo, when he dances my daughter tries to dance just like him.
I think the only drawback is that it is hard to find out how to make the toy work, it took us some time that we needed to squeeze his left hand for that.
Other than this, it's perfect.
