(More customer reviews)We bought this for our youngest daughter at Christmas when she was 6 months old. She is still playing with it at 16 months old. It can keep her occupied for long periods of time, especially if her older sister is sitting with her. It has cute sounds and the songs aren't too annoying. There is a volume control so that is always a plus. You have to watch it and make sure it doesn't stay on, otherwise the lights will keep flashing indefinately.

The Nursery Rhymes CD Player is a take-along infant learning toy that teaches your little one nursery rhymes, first words, animal names and sounds. Your baby simply presses the center button to send the CD spinning around while the three colored lights dance. When it stops on one of five animals, it sings an appropriate nursery rhyme. Your little learner can then press the three lighted buttons on top to hear the animal name, the sound and hear the nursery rhyme again. Also comes with bangle beads on the side for additional play. Requires 3 "AA" batteries (included).

(More customer reviews)I bought this toy because my children loved to play with pattern blocks at science and art museums. This was the only toy I found with real wood blocks that were the size and feel of the toys they had played with earlier. Using the blocks alone, my children loved to create an endless number of beautiful geometric patterns. The toy encourages creativity and promotes mathematical thinking.
My daughter, who was five or six at the time, tried using the picture boards. At her age, she was able to do it although it was frustrating when the pieces moved out of place. For awhile, she thought that she had to use the picture boards in order to play with the toy properly. Once she got over that, we had a wonderful toy again.
If you throw away the picture boards from the beginning and let your child's creativity take over, you have a 5 star toy that even older children and adults enjoy tinkering with.
