(More customer reviews)My 11 month old received this toy for Christmas this year and LOVES it. However, like most children his age he is teething and sticks everything in his mouth. Well, the paint on the characters is coming off in his mouth. So, we have to watch him very carefully so that he isn't putting the little characters in his mouth. Other than the paint coming off, it's a cute toy. It doesn't do much, but it entertains my son for at least 10 minutes and that's quite an achievement!!

He would reach over and try to touch it and this really helped him learn to turn over. Now at 4.5 months he just can't get enough of it and plays with it daily. It was a gift and we NEVER thought we'd get so much use out of it. HIGHLY recommend!!!

Also, sometimes when you put the magnet on the page, it will stick to the correct place, but if you move the monkey a little it will also stick to an incorrect place. Overall, Not something I would recommend.

But I opened the box and found myself thinking I paid $40 for this??? There's just not a lot to them. They're also very shiny and slippery and as an adult even I found them cumbersome to attempt to stack. Not worth it - these are going back.

(More customer reviews)This toy has limited interest for my son. I bought it for him when he was 18 mos (he is now 2). He occasionally plays with it for maybe 5 minutes at a time. If you put it on a smooth surface (table, hardwood floor) it slides around when he tried to turn the wheel or pushes/pulls the gearshift. Also it is very LOUD and I find the tone of voice kind of rude: On the horn: "out of the way", on the gas button "fill er up" - but the tone of voice isn't nice it sounds like a rude little kid demanding that he be listened to....NOW. Except for the police button which says "slow down little fellow" the rest of them sound like spoiled brats! Not recommended.

Fisher-Price? Laugh & Learn Learning Vacuum Cleaner Review

(More customer reviews)I like most of Fisher Price's Laugh and Learn products so I was very disappointed with this vacuum. I have similar complaints as the previous review:
1) The height of the vacuum is VERY short. My daughter is 20 months and on the short side. She almost has to bend over to use it already. I don't know how they market this for up to 3 years of age. It would definitely be too small for a 3 year old.
2) The big purple wheels in the back turn but there is this plastic molding that is in the shape of a wheel underneath the vacuum cleaner that doesn't turn at all. It just drags on the ground. So this would be ok if you use it on carpeting but on hardwood floor, it almost scrapes up the ground. I don't understand by they didn't make this front "wheel" actually spin too.
3) The vacuum doesn't stay upright! It's a pain to store because I have to prop it up with something. If i don't, it just lays on the ground and takes up a lot of space. Everytime my daughter is playing with it, she has to bend all the way to the floor to get to the handle.
4) There aren't many features to this at all. The only features are the on/off switch and the wheels/front part that spin and make music. There is this red knob and green spinning ball that do nothing at all.
5) I don't know why this is called "Laugh and LEARN". There is really no learning. They sing the alphabet so fast that I can barely keep up, let alone a 2 year old.
I haven't looked into any other toy vacuum cleaners but for the price of this, I would have expected it to do a lot more and have better features.

It is cute and has fun sounds, but the coins only release from the slot about 50 percent of the time right out of the box. At 8 months old my little one needs help getting the coins back into the bank. She can work the tail on her own, but since nothing happens half the time she loses interest quickly.

Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Learning Farm Review

Lots of mini activities - feeding the cow, "planting the flowers" having the eggs slide through the shoot. All the noises and songs, opening and closing the barn door.
Dislike:
Putting it together. It took about 30 minutes to get all the pieces screwed in and assembled. It probably took that long because my son was eager to get his hands on this awesome looking toy and wanted to play with it while we were putting it together.
Why I'm giving it a 5:
It seems pricey for a FP toy, (we bought it on a buy 2 get 1 free promo and got the farm, home and the rock and bounce pony), so it wasn't too bad. FP toys are very sturdy, with a rough baby and 2 dogs, any toy that makes it through and still look brand new is amazing.
Very interactive. Teaches cause and effect. The sounds of the farm animals and the door creaking when it opens and a "slam" when it shuts cracks my baby up. He loves being able to "crawl" through the door. It did take him a little bit why he couldn't "walk" through, and watching him crouch down and waddle though was a hoot. He eventually gave up and crawled.
Even without the extra pieces (eggs, flowers) it's still a lot of fun. We brought it over to a friends house to entertain the little ones - awesome. They had so much fun just messing around with it.
We haven't had a toy that keeps our kid entertained for a long period of time AND something he wants to go back to.
IF YOU ARE DEBATING on getting this vs the HOME - get the home. It has a few more extras and activities to do. Only bonus about the farm is the radio - it makes "static" noises so it's like you're tuning a radio. The home one has a clock that you can teach time and it's a little bigger opening for the doorway.

(More customer reviews)The twin boys I watch (almost 3) love this thing! They sit & play with it for an hour @ a time. The balls do fall off the track sometimes but it's no big deal they just put them back on (99% of the time it is the green ball that has a flat end that falls off, the other two included balls seem to do just fine). It's an expensive toy but we love it & it's nice to hear the wooden rolling noises & bell tinkle rather than sirens or other annoying noises. Glad i bought it!

Brilliant Basics - Baby's First Blocks Review

(More customer reviews)Our son received this block sorter when he was only about nine months old. He's two now and still plays with it frequently. Very few toys can claim to pass the tests of being interesting and educational throughout such a long span in the baby-into-toddler period.
The block sorter itself is a tub about the size of a half-gallon milk jug. The sorter lid sits atop the tub; it fits securely but doesn't lock down with any tabs or snaps that would frustrate a child. On the flip side, this means that turning it over dumps the blocks everywhere, although that's a primary means of enjoyment for our two-year-old now!
The set comes with about a dozen blocks in assorted colors (red, blue and green) and shapes (circle, square, triangle and star). All of the pieces are solidly constructed for lots of use. The blocks are sized appropriately to be easily grasped by baby hands without being so small as to present a choking hazard.
Early on, our son just liked to see the blocks spread out in front of him. We'd name off the colors and shapes and he'd enjoy picking them up and feeling their shape and texture. Eventually, he began his take-out-and-put-away phase and these provided lots of fulfillment for him. However, he wasn't quite ready for the lid, so he would leave it off. Now, he enjoys matching the shapes to the holes in the lid and working on his fine motor skills by turning and flipping the blocks in his hands. We also use them to reinforce the names of the shapes and colors and he's using them to learn and repeat these words.
The baby/infant/toddler toy market is flooded with battery-operated, hyperactive button-pressing sound machines disguised as "learning" toys. It's great to find one such as this that takes a comparatively simple concept and pays big dividends in fun and learning. Its low price and quality construction make Baby's First Blocks an excellent value as well.

(More customer reviews)We bought this for our youngest daughter at Christmas when she was 6 months old. She is still playing with it at 16 months old. It can keep her occupied for long periods of time, especially if her older sister is sitting with her. It has cute sounds and the songs aren't too annoying. There is a volume control so that is always a plus. You have to watch it and make sure it doesn't stay on, otherwise the lights will keep flashing indefinately.

Amazing Tracker Ball Maze Review

(More customer reviews)We bought this for our son's first birthday. I had a similar toy as a kid and also had something like this, but plastic, for a 1 year old when I was a nanny. I really hesitated because the price is high for us but I'm so glad I bought this. It is very sturdy, the wood is nicely sanded and assembled. The only "assembly required" is to screw the base to the top, easy. The colorful rails on each ramp I think are plastic, but wood this thin would not be durable so I don't mind at all. The balls which come with the toy are a soft rubber so they don't make a horrendous racket. We also use the balls from another toy which are much louder going down which my son enjoys! I'm sure a lot of different balls would fit this toy which I think is great. It is also nice that the toy is 2-sided so when the neighbor kids come over to play two can play with it at one time without pushing and shoving.
Our son immediately got the hang of putting the balls in the top, then he figured out to place them on ramps half way down. It wasn't long before he could anticipate the ball path and grab one off while in motion. He's also learning about what things are round and will roll by sticking everything which will fit into the toy ;)
This toy could tip over on your little one if they pull too hard while learning to stand, but it's not heavy so I didn't worry about it. I love this and would highly recommend. The shipping was prompt as well.

Preschool Building Blocks Rainbow Tower Toy Learning New Review

(More customer reviews)My 1 year old daughter received the Haba Rainbow Tower as a gift for her 1st birthday. We have many Haba toys and they are made to the highest quality. We have never had any problems with any of them. However, my daughter nearly choked to death today on the top red piece on the Rainbow Tower. She managed to get the entire piece in her mouth and couldn't get it out. It was wedged in her mouth so tight that I couldn't get my fingers around it to pull it out. Thankfully I got it out in time. I would not recommend this toy for children under the age of 3. We were very lucky today!
