There were more parts than I had expected and the plane was also larger than I had expected but this turned out to be perfect for little hands to fit down inside of. The wheels roll and turn Very smoothly. The plastic is heavy duty and will not be breaking in our lifetime. While the wheels occasionally come off during a 'crash' and sometimes the tail has fallen off, I believe this is what keeps the toy from really breaking. It's a good design and the kids 3&5 can usually put it back together themselves. The top comes off, the side door opens and there is a luggage compartment in the back.
