Fisher-Price Imaginext Big Foot The Monster Review

Fisher-Price Imaginext Big Foot The Monster
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My son got this for his 4th birthday. He was THRILLED to get it, and couldn't wait to get it home and start playing with it. He even tried to take it to bed the first night!
The first few days, he played with it repeatedly throughout the day. After a few days, he tired of it. He still enjoys the remote control aspect, but only uses it for 5 minutes or so at a time.
Pros: The BigFoot can do some pretty neat stuff, especially to a 4-year old boy! With the touch of a button, he roars, flips, burps, yells and throws a ball. The first time my son had him flip, he thought it was amazing and couldn't wait to do it over and over again. The remote is also easy to operate, and has just enough buttons to make it interesting and not overly complicated for the age group.
Cons: Some of the actions are not performed quite as smoothly or easily as on the commercials. For instance, to get the BigFoot to throw the ball, you have to place the ball just so, and hope the mechanical thumb closes around it. If it doesn't lock or close tight enough, the ball just falls right back out. Also, the ball doesn't really get thrown so much as dropped with style. Still entertaining for a 4-year old, but only after many, many frustrating efforts getting the ball to stick. Another con is the sheer size/weight of the toy. When it flips over or falls backwards, it lands with a boom. My son used it in a bedroom with laminate wood floor, and there is now a little chip in the floor from the BigFoot landing with such force. It makes odd mechanical noises when it breaths and moves its arms in resting mode, and when it moves around. This makes it a little hard to hear it talk at times, over the whirring. Lastly, and this is the one that my son wishes were different - it only moves backwards and forwards, not side to side. If you're trying to steer it around the room, good luck!
Overall, it's a pretty darned neat toy. For the money, I wish they'd made it more maneuverable and fixed the ball throwing.

Automoblox T9 Truck Green by Automoblox Review

Automoblox T9 Truck Green by Automoblox
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought the Automoblox truck for my grandson's 4th birthday. It has an instant hit. He liked that he could take the truck apart and put together another combination.
The truck body is actually 3 parts, the front end, the truck cab(body) and the truck bed, joined together by very easy to use bright green plugs. The truck puts together as shown in the images, or the cab can be eliminated to make a cute little "buggy".
This toy is very sturdy and appears to be well designed and engineered. I'll be checking with my grandson to see how well his Automoblox truck is holding up to daily play. The Automoblox information says that each Automoblox model is interchangeable with other models. So, if this model is holding up well, I will be ordering at least one of the other models for Christmas.
Caution for those with smaller children who still like to eat their toys; there are wooden people who plug into the inside of the truck cab, the toy loses very little play appeal if you tuck those away until the eating urge passes.
The only downside I can think of is that the price was a bit high. However, it does come in a very sturdy cardboard box that seems designed to create the image of an heirloom toy. I can see that happening. All in all, if the toy holds up as it appears it is designed to do, that is money well spent.

Castle Toy Cute Baby Doll Stroller - Pink Review

Castle Toy Cute Baby Doll Stroller - Pink
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After my 20 month old daughter started "borrowing" toy strollers every time we went to the playground, I decided we needed our own and this one did not disappoint. She is absolutely delighted with her new toy and it feels surprisingly sturdy for the price, and I like that it collapses for easy packing. The only thing I want to mention is that since I didn't care about the color of the stroller, I bought the version that was clearly marked "blue" in the description (and on my receipt) because it was less expensive than the pink one but when the toy arrived, it was pink. Not a big deal for us but it might be for others. It looks like the description has now been corrected so this might not be a problem for future purchasers.

What's in Ned's Head? Review

What's in Ned's Head
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The poor quality of craftsmanship really detracts from the possibility of fun with this game. It is just weird enough to be something the whole family wanted to play with. We were disappointed in the following: Ned's head is polyester stretched over a flimsy metal frame. The fiber filling comes out through the shoddy seamwork. The items one is supposed to "find" in Ned's head are beyond cheap: the disgustingly cool looking cotton swab completely fell apart with the first round of the game; the plastic screw is hollow and came crushed; "the vomit doesn't even have any brown chunks in it!", exclaimed my daughter.
All in all, we were completely disappointed in this game as the potential was definitely there. Play it once and stash it or convert it into a mask for next Halloween's trick or treating!

Tomy Gearation Review

Tomy Gearation
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Gearation Activity Set is a winner! The colorful magnetic discs interlock, giving little hands an opportunity to learn about cogs, gears and magnets simultaneously. With 2 speeds of movement and a seemingly unending number of combinations, this toy allows children to create their own "moving picture" complete with sound! The discs are colorful, well-made and easy for a 3-4 year old to interlock. It's movement is messmerizing to children and adults as well. A great toy!

Little Tikes Keyheads City Fire Station Review

Little Tikes Keyheads City Fire Station
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Sweet baby Jesus, this toy SUCKS. Get ready for an hour of tedious assembly, followed by about 45 seconds of confused play, and then the ramp will just fall off. I should have been put off by the whole idiotic concept of "Keyhead City"--because what child doesn't want to play with severed fireman heads? They aren't even really keys that you can turn...they just sort of rest loosely in their slots...until you press them, which activates the ear-splitting siren...which you can use to clear traffic on the way to the Emergency Room, after you put your eye out with the sharp, pointy "water bomb" projectiles. And it's so poorly designed! Where are you supposed to sit exactly when you're using the elevator or the catapult? It makes you feel like a left-handed person using right handed scissors. Thank you, Little Tykes, for ruining Christmas.

This toy was well worth the money. The blocks are well made and very smooth. My son has had a TON of fun with making the castle and other things with these blocks. Love the fact that it seems we can get more blocks from the same place and the only limit is his growing imagination!

The Wonder Forge Dr Seuss Super Stretchy ABCs Review

The Wonder Forge Dr Seuss Super Stretchy ABCs
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Purchased this product for a November 2009 birthday. The recipient was a four year old boy. It kept his attention and he enjoyed the competition. He was a little too short to stretch all items, but we compensated for him. It was fun for all of us playing. It challenged his ability to follow directions and execute the required movement and would be considered age appropriate.
