I even looked at things like bee wings, cricket legs, my mom's hair, my dog's fur, and a flower petal. The pre-made slides that came with it were pretty cool too - I liked the onion cells best. I would highly recommend this microscope for you to buy. One of the things I don't like so much about it is the cover slips for the slides you can make for yourself - I don't understand why they are round, and many of them are kind of scratched.
