Fisher Price Kid-Tough Digital Camera for Girls Review

Got this for my daughter's fifth birthday. It's tough, and survives her taking it to school and having the other kids take pics too, great job there. It's really interesting as a father to see how she spent her day.
Quality, however, could easily be better. They are comparable to my old cannon 1.3 megapixel, set at its lowest resolution, which means much lower than 1.3 megapixel. My phone takes better pics, and for today's day and age (not to mention the price) you should expect more. At least one megapixel, please! I bought a 516 additional memory card and she'll be able to take pictures till she's 16 years old w/out deleting any!
Fisher price: Go back, do it again and get it right please (2 megapixels and its a 5 star +). I'll happily buy another and I can't find anything comparable on the market (as bad as the resolution is, the others I saw seem even worse).

Vtech Kidizoom Camera Review

The first camera we bought was the fisher price kid tough camera.. and it was the biggest waste of 50 bucks. The thing would turn on and right back off again. Our son was really upset, he's three. So we found this camera as a replacement and it works great! It has really cute little games on it easy enough for a 3 year old and it takes pretty good pictures for being a toy. Not those over grainy things that the fisher price one took. I would recommend this to a friend or buy it as a gift if the need came up for something like this again! :)

Kid-Tough Waterproof Digital Camera - Blue Review

My little boy loved this camera, and for the most part it was great. Of course it doesn't take amazing photos, but it's a kids camera, and hey they've come a long way since I was a little girl.
But, sometimes the downloading doesn't work. And, then all of a sudden one day, the camera just quit working all together. I'm not talking years after we've had it. We haven't even had it for a year. It could be just a fluke occurance, but we can't get it to turn on unless we put new batteries in it, and then it lasts for about ten seconds, takes one picture, and then doesn't let you review any of them. When you try and download the photos off of it now, it shows there are none.
I'm not trying to say that it didn't give my child alot of joy when it did work, but he is totally bummed that his camera doesn't work anymore, and I'm totally bummed that we have to get him a new one now. I just don't think it will be this exact one.

Crayola 2.1 Megapixel Digital Camera Kit - Green Review

Crayola 2.1 Megapixel Digital Camera Kit - Green

This is a horrible camera. HORRIBLE! We bought this for my son at Costco to give to him this Christmas. It was cheap, but we figured it was just a good price because of where we bought it. It was a hit when opened, but as soon as we tried to turn it on, we had problems. We actually never got past the "turn on" screen. We were never able to take a picture. This left a 4 year old disappointed on Xmas and I couldn't be angrier about the poor design and general piece of junk this camera is. I guess it should be pretty obvious not to buy electronics from a crayon maker. Crayola should stick to crayons. We bought a VTech Camera and it works great! If you're looking for a cheaper kid's digital camera I would suggest the VTech camera.

Fisher Price Kid-Tough Digital Camera - Pink Review

We purchased this camera for our 4 year old. It will hold up to a 1 GB SD card. It is a 1.3 megapixel camera on high resolution, but the photos appear to be taken with a .3 megapixel camera. It is very easy for her to use, but I am going to take it back and spend a little more money and get her a real camera. We travel a lot and I find that the kids occasionally take some really good photos. And they take them from a completely different perspective. If you want a toy for your toddler to learn how to take photos and you don't care about the quality then this is the camera for you. If you have any desire whatsoever to use the photos, then avoid this camera.

Kid-Tough Digital Camera Case - Pink Review

I purchased this for the Kid Tough camera I got my daughter for her birthday coming up. It's a great idea...I can't imagine getting the camera and not getting the case. However, there is no true handle or carrying strap, and that is the only true downfall. I purchased mine at my local Walmart for 14.95 (that's the regular price there.)

Vtech Kidizoom Plus Pink Digital Camera Review

The reviews of kiddie cameras are mixed, so I finally bought this for my just turned 4 year old daughter (for her birthday last week) with some trepidation. We've now had it for over 1 week, and its been a huge hit! I've never seen her take a toy with her everywhere and use it so often. So just from that perspective, its been a big success.
It takes small pictures (.3 of a megapixel), and takes a few secs to focus on an image (during which camera needs to be held still, a bit of a challenge for a toddler, but good discipline), but if you keep these 2 things in mind, the pictures aren't bad (certainly not as horrible as some reviewers imply). When I take pictures, and hold the unit still (and let the auto focus focus on the subject, the pictures are decent - albeit not great by any stretch). The flash is useless in almost all conditions (except possibly night), but you can easily turn it off (by pressing the delete picture button). Yes it has no zoom, but my daughter likes to experiment by moving closer and farther away. Yes the eye pieces can lead one to cut off the subjects head, but the LCD display is accurate, and I have taught my daughter to use this to frame pictures. She caught on quickly.
We added a 256 MB SD card, and she's been happily clicking away ever since. She's figured out how to delete and put the various supplied graphics (frames and funny facial features) over her real life subjects. I haven't yet shown her the video or games or other editing features.
One of the best features of this camera is the ability to hook it into the tv - no computer connection needed for her. She quite likes to see her pictures on the big screen. On my 62" tv, the pixelation is pretty awful, but I hope on smaller lcds it would be more acceptable.
In the long run, we will give her a better camera that takes better pictures (likely one of our old ones), but for now this is teaching her about photography, and its tough and kid friendly. Just don't expect amazing photos (she doesn't, so why should we?), and this more than delivers the goods for a 2-5 year old in my view.
While clearly not bullet proof, so far I've been impressed with the build quality and thoughtfulness of teh design - hardly the piece of junk that some others have labeled this toy. Good luck.
