It is durable, sturdy, affordable, colorful, interactive and allows a child to move about while learning; a behavior style inherent to children everywhere. The well-crafted box is made to store the attention-getting manipulatives, pen and eraser, all in a pull out drawer, while the top lid of the box turns over to provide a magnetic surface to place the reusable work sheets on, allowing the child to then select the correct manipulatives for the missing letter or number and complete the information needed for that particular worksheet. Very easy to get familiar with the product and it remains entertaining on every level, starting with Getting Ready to Read, to I am Reading, plus handwriting practice and techniques, beginning math in addition to fun and stimulating games to reinforce what the child has already learned with flash cards thrown into the bargain. All of this without a single battery. Yes, this exciting new creation is completely wireless, non-electronic so your child will learn by using his or her own manual skills to the fullest extent possible, all "Inside the Box." The young mother who invented this unique concept is a University of Washington alumni turned housewife who stumbled on to her idea for Fat Cat when helping her daughter find a craft project to make for Christmas presents.
