ThinkFun Zingo Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought this game for my children several years ago on the advice of the owner of my favorite toy store. I love board games, and my children were 3 and 5 then, and just starting to enjoy them as well. Well, we couldn't get the kids to stop playing Zingo. They played quietly for more than 2 hours. Since you can play with up to 8 players, we have had lots of neighborhood kids playing the game out on the front steps. Since then, I have bought at least 10 Zingo games -- I have given them to all my children's friends and I always keep a few around to give out for birthday gifts. Everyone loves this game.

Eeboo Mystery in the Forest Matching Game Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My daughters love memory games. This one is exceptional! Not only is this toy played like regular memory, it is easy to create narratives by laying out different pictures and making stories out of them. It said this in the description, but I had a hard time imagining my kids actually playing with it like that. I was wrong! Even I got into it... :)

Mickey Mouse V.Smile Smartridge Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My son received this game for Christmas along with 4 others for the v smile. This is one of his favorites. The game is rated for 5-7 year olds, but my 4 year old can play some of the games on his own. In one game, the screen shows a word that has letters missing and you need to find them in the order they go in. He has learned to match the letters so that he can spell the word. If your child knows their letters, then this is not a difficult game to play.

(More customer reviews)Purchased this for a 5 year old who is beginning to read and spell...great item, especially for kids with some imagination/creativity...child (with some initial help) quickly realized that if you simply start with a consonant and then a vowel, suddenly lots of three and four letter words start appearing...child enjoyed rearranging rings to spell lots of different words.

LeapFrog? Leapster L-Max? Game: Letters on the Loose Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought this to use on my regular Leapster and it worked just fine. My 4 year old son is learning to write letters in his Pre-K class and this just excited him beyond belief. He sits there for hours tracing those letters and he is so proud of himself when he is done!!! I am amazed because my son usually NEVER sits still unless he's watching TV. This has replaced our watch TV before you go to bed time...now he gets in bed and draws his letters.
The most important thing about this is it teaches them to draw their letters CORRRECTLY. Start at the top and go down...etc. All educational experts Iv'e talked with say that it is essential to get then doing it right. PLUS, unlike the letter factory (which I loved) it also teaches lowercase letters which I have come to find out that those are what they need in Pre-K and K.
Thank you Leapfrog for encouraging my son to enthusiastically learn and challenge himself.

When the letters in the Letter Factory get loose, Professor Quigley needs your help to pull them all together! Play 26 fun letter games, and learn letter names and letter sounds and learn to write the entire alphabet for your letter book. Then plug into the TV to help Quigley find and identify uppercase and lowercase letters for the book! For use with the Leapster L-Max Learning Game System, sold separately.

LeapFrog Leapster 2 Special Edition Star Wars Gift Pack Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)We purchased the black Star Wars bundle Leapster 2 from Target. The software loaded perfectly, the SD card worked even though I installed a 512mb instead of the recommended 256 or less, the games downloaded from Leapfrog's website easily.
I wonder how many of the issues others have had with the software are due to the increased Christmas holiday traffic on Leapfrog's Website? Not sure, but our Leapster 2 works perfectly. Either Leapfrog is working out and correcting the software bugs, or we got lucky with a good device. Either way, we are very pleased with the Leapster 2.
The games that you download are very simple and best suited for pre-k age kids (number recognition, shoot the number 8, etc...) The graphics are basic, not the super detailed graphics of other hand held gaming systems. However, totally acceptable for the younger child. The Leapster 2 is a nice balance between gaming and educational content for a young child. I think it definitely fits the advertised age range, 4-8, beyond that kids are looking for something 'cooler.'

Little Tikes 3-D Farm Memory Match-Up Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002FCKB5U/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_title
My daughter who is 4 years old and turning 5 shortly, received this for Christmas last year. We live in a house with 5 kids. We have burned through a ton of games over the past several years. This game has endured with all the age groups. Grandma will sit and play it. The teenagers will play with her. She LOVES it. She gets it out at least once a week. The case is a hard plastic egg carton. The game includes a set of farm animals that are assembled by a top and a bottom piece. You hide each piece under half an egg shell and play memory by lifting the shells and remembering where the top and bottom of each animal are. You assemble your animals when you have a match and you win by having the most animals sitting in front of you. I never post reviews, but I thought this game was worth giving some good press. I went to buy some for our friends and had a hard time finding them!

Winnie The Pooh Flickering Fireflies Handheld Electronic Game for Preschoolers, 4 Games in One Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)What a disappointment! This toy purports to have multiple levels and games, but it's way too simplistic for kids at the older end of the recommended range. Whether it's following a sequence of lights or matching the colored fireflies (i.e. pressing the unlit red firefly if the other red firefly is currently lit) this is way too repetitious for even unsophisticated 4 year olds. And what's worse, the buttons are temperamental so sometimes they don't register a "hit" even when the correct firefly has been pressed. 2 or even 3 year olds might find this amusing, but forget it for older kids.

Educational Insights Castle Logix Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My 4 1/2 year old daughter just opened this for Christmas. It is a first rate toy! It looks easy, but it is more challenging than it first seems. Some of the most difficult puzzles even took me a little while (and I'm an engineer). My daughter worked through the first 20 puzzles before deciding to move on to another Christmas toy. She was very proud of herself when she solved each puzzle. It is well-built and doesn't have too many pieces (which is nice for clean up). It is awesome for teaching logical problem-solving skills. This toy makes a great gift.

Ion Educational Gaming Console ON TV System w/ Camera, 2 Discs PLUS 2 EXTRA Learning Discs & Software CARRY Case Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought this for my 5 year old grandson, who is in his last year of preschool. He loves the game and especially loves seeing himself on the TV screen with the characters. Despite it being geared toward pre-school kids, his older brother (7) also manages to find the challenge in playing the games. They spend hours at a time playing.
The screen prompts can be tricky as can finding the correct distance from the TV, as much of that depends on the height of the unit from the floor and the height and arm span of the player. Overall, a good unit and fun.

Leapfrog Explorer Recharger Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)The recharging station comes in handy and the battery last for about 3-5 days with about 3-6 hours of use each time, so it last about a total of 24-27 hours of use. The Leapster Explorer is a great new hand held educational system, this keeps my son busy and he learns a lot from this system. I would recommend this to anyone with kids 3 years or older. They have plenty of games to choose from and online content you can purchase. They offer online apps, e-books, videos, and other cool stuff. You can also play online and have personalized pets and etc. I really like that I can see areas of where my son excels and where he needs help. This is possible with there learning path software. This advanced system software can even let you customize spelling list, words, and math problems etc. This system is hands down the best educational device out there.
