(More customer reviews)My sons are into building things - legos, standard unit blocks and anything they can get their hands on. They do like this set and didn't even need to look at the instructions to build the outside. Because of the odd dimensions of these Haba blocks, they cannot be integrated into other structures and thus put a limit of creativity. If the dimensions are consistent with standard unit blocks, they will get taken out more often to play. Also, this set has just enough blocks to make the pyramid in the picture, so there is no way to close the pyramid's "door". Could be better, but this is the only pyramid blocks we have found...

IQ Preschool Magic Sound Blocks Animals Review

However, after only a couple of weeks of mild use, it started misfiring some times: the child would press together 2 halves of a doggy, and a kitty cat would sound off instead... The doggy would too, eventually, but very confusing for a child who's learning.
A couple of other minor things include the fact that the pictures are simply glued to the cubes, and on one of them the corner already started coming off and the fact that the toy does not come with batteries (perhaps my fault for not checking, but I thought I'd mention it specifically for the others).

Fisher Price Noah's Ark Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this as a first birthday present for my twins. I figured that we'd give it to them, but that they wouldn't be really ready to play with it yet - how wrong I was!
They LOVE this toy. The animals are just right for picking up. They love to show me the animals and have me name them, and are even starting to get the right one if I say, "Where's the panda?" or whatever. It's a toy that they go to time and again throughout the day. They have even figured out how to open the ark and they like putting the animals in and taking them out.
I love that I know it will last for a long time, because as they get older, they will be able to play "imagination" games with it.
The details are amazing, too. The animal pairs are easily identifiable as girls and boys - all the girls have blush and pink ears, while the boys don't, as another reviewer mentioned. Noah and his wife (in our house, her name is Betty) are built so that if you stand them next to each other, they hold hands. It is just too cute! It is this kind of extra detail that shows to me how much thought Fisher-Price puts into their toys.
I did buy one of the extra animal sets and plan to purchase the other one today. There is certainly room for storage of all the animals inside the ark.
This is a wonderful toy!

International Playthings Light and Sound Ambulance Review

(More customer reviews)In concept, this is a very cute toy, although there are way too many parts for a small child to figure out or really play with. I had two major problems with this toy, and it was a deal breaker so I sent it back to the seller.
Number one: The back doors are mounted on very flimsy hinges that don't really "hang" the doors. They just sort of snap on, loosely. So anytime my son would open the back doors (which is the main thing we would do) the doors would just fall off into his hands. This would send him screaming or crying to me in frustration to put the doors back on. One morning, I had to resnap those doors into place upwards of 20 times in as many minutes. We were both pretty fed up after that, so the ambulance was "unplayble" as far as my son was concerned.
Number two: The wheels don't move very easily. They do "go" when the toy is pushed, but it feels like the brakes are on, relative to other cars and trucks my son has that move across the floor very easily. But that wasn't the deal breaker ... the back doors constantly falling off was.
I think this is a very cute toy in concept, and should have tons of potential. But instead of worrying about so many little parts, I wish the manufacturer had spent a some more time making sure the toy was a tad more durable. My son is not rough at all with toys, but this one was ridiculously fragile.
I cannot recommend this toy.

(More customer reviews)I got this toy for my 4 year old daughter. At first she wasn't that impressed; she had been hoping for a princess toy. But once she tried it, she loved it. She gets on it all the time while she is watching TV, and she also uses it as a platform for her toys and stuffed animals. It is small enough to not be a storage problem and a great way to encourage physical activity when it is too hot or cold to go outside. There is no weight limit on the product, so I've even tried it out myself!
