LeapFrog Leapster 2 Special Edition Star Wars Gift Pack Review

LeapFrog Leapster 2 Special Edition Star Wars Gift Pack

We purchased the black Star Wars bundle Leapster 2 from Target. The software loaded perfectly, the SD card worked even though I installed a 512mb instead of the recommended 256 or less, the games downloaded from Leapfrog's website easily.
I wonder how many of the issues others have had with the software are due to the increased Christmas holiday traffic on Leapfrog's Website? Not sure, but our Leapster 2 works perfectly. Either Leapfrog is working out and correcting the software bugs, or we got lucky with a good device. Either way, we are very pleased with the Leapster 2.
The games that you download are very simple and best suited for pre-k age kids (number recognition, shoot the number 8, etc...) The graphics are basic, not the super detailed graphics of other hand held gaming systems. However, totally acceptable for the younger child. The Leapster 2 is a nice balance between gaming and educational content for a young child. I think it definitely fits the advertised age range, 4-8, beyond that kids are looking for something 'cooler.'

Play-doh Star Wars Playset Review

Play-doh Star Wars Playset

Our 4 year old got this in the mail yesterday and has been playing with it for 2 days straight. It's great at keeping him entertained, giving lots of opportunities for different types of play and challenges him to improve his fine motor coordination & strength. I wanted to give a complete list of what exactly is included in this set, as, had we known earlier all that it contained we would have bought it months ago.
R2D2 storage caddy with 6 Star Wars stamps under head (jedi fighter (space ship/plane), jedi insignia, clone trooper helmet, General Grievous & 2 we couldn't identify), 3 half molds on feet (Ahsoka, C3PO & Obi-Wan), side jets on R2D2 that you can put red Play-doh through to make it look like he's flying, removable head is also a press to create shapes (Play-doh worms) that are not Star Wars related but makes it look like R2D2 has hair
Anakin 3D mold
Push out light saber mold (the mold is the light saber's handle)
General Play-doh tools that store inside R2D2:
plastic rolling cutter (like a pizza knife)
plastic knife
plastic scissors
3 2-oz cans of Play-doh

LEGO Star Wars Pirate Tank Review

LEGO Star Wars Pirate Tank

This Lego set is really easy to build and it is a great tank when it's done. It only took me 45 minutes to put it together even though there are 372 pieces. I got it at the Lego store, it was a special edition and it was a good deal.
The gun turret moves and there are awesome brand new Lego mini-figures. There are hidden missiles and the front & back wings move (and the back turret moves!). There is a hidden capsule for one man and great spots for the other man. My favorite mini-figure is Turk Falso. The tank looks like it would be really fast after it's put together.
If you like Lego tanks you will love this set!!! I recommend this Lego set, and I think it's the best set I have built yet! Connor

LeapFrog Leapster Learning Game Star Wars - Jedi Math Review

LeapFrog Leapster Learning Game Star Wars - Jedi Math
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My 7 year old son loves Star Wars The Clone Wars, so I knew he would like this.
The best thing about the game is the questions get more difficult as the player advances within the chosen level. So, though it may start with single digit number recognition, it advances to double digit number recognition. It may start with asking about general time of day, but then advances to specific time of day and then to reading time on a digital clock.
I recommend this game for pre-K through second grade.
A more detailed description is presented below.
______________________________________________
SPACE
Shoot the correct number to get to navigate through space to get to the ship where the prisoner is held.
Level 1: features recognition of numbers 1 through 10.
Level 2: features subtraction of single digit numbers.
Level 3: features addition of a two digit number with a single digit number.
THE SHIP
To get through the rooms, answer questions about time.
Level 1: questions feature time of day, like when do you usually leave for school (morning, afternoon, evening)?
Level 2: learn how to read time on an analogue clock to the hour.
Level 3: learn to read time on an analogue clock to the half hour.
LIGHTSABER DUEL
Answer the math questions quickly and Skywalker attacks. Answer incorrectly and the enemy attacks. The faster the player answers, the more power they get for their attack.

LEGO Star Wars Republic Fighter Tank (7679) Review

LEGO Star Wars Republic Fighter Tank (7679)

I bought this set because I wanted the figures and tank for my clone army. This set comes with one clone commander figure that has a normal printed head, torso, and helmet. The only thing different about the clone commander is he is equipped with gray commander gear and pistols. This set also comes with one normal clone trooper figure that has a normal printed head, torso, and helmet. He is equipped with a short blaster. The tank itself is a very complex build (it took me more then an hour to assemble) and when finished it looks very big and it has a lot of features. The tank has two storage compartments (one on each side of the tank) for the clone's gear and weapons. The tank also has two flip-out flick-missile launchers (one on each side of the tank) that are equipped with three flick-missiles each. The tank is equipped with two primary blaster cannons (one on each side of the tank) that can swivel up and down. The tank is also equipped with an anti-infantry turret that can swivel up and down, and side to side. The turret has a gunner seat that can pop up into position by opening the back hatch. The tank has a cockpit that has a seat for the driver with controls. The tank also has hidden wheels giving it the hovering look. The tank also has a hood that opens to reveal a small engine.Well, here are the basics of the set:
The good things
Clone commander
Clone trooper
Short blaster (also comes with one extra)
Commander gear
Commander pistols
Tank
Storage compartments
Flip-out flick-missile launchers
Primary blaster cannons
Anti-infantry turret
Pop up gunner seat
Hidden wheels
Opening hood
Engine
Two printed republic symbol pieces
Two printed control panel pieces
The bad things
Stickers
Should have come with a specific commander (such as Gree, Cody, or Bly)
Over all, I highly recommend this set.
