(More customer reviews)This toy is not worth the money! I remember playing this game with one of my brothers when I was little, and we always had a good time. I was hoping to replicate the experience for my children; unfortunately, this game has been brought back in a junky, poor quality version. The hippos have to be removed from the game board with their necks extended and locked into place in order to put the game away in the box. My kids (6&4) have a hard time putting it together or putting it away by themselves (huge minus in my book!). The hippos sometimes become detached from the game during play. Their necks *frequently* get stuck in the extended position, necessitating stopping the game so that it can get fixed. The marbles are cheap, hollow plastic rather than the heavier marbles I remember from my childhood. The stickers don't stay on the hippos very well, so none of our hippos have eyes anymore. Even the box itself is incredibly flimsy if you hope to use it as a storage box for the game. Don't waste your money! Our game is sitting in the donation bin waiting to be taken to charity!

Let's Go Fishin Review

(More customer reviews)To clear up a few things: 1) The game uses 1 C battery, not 2 AAs. 2) There is no music as stated in the product description. 3) The fishing pole and fish are not magnetic as in other, smaller, wind-up versions of this game.
My biggest complaints are that it spins a little too fast, which means that the fish don't keep their mouths open for very long. And because the fishing pole is two plastic pieces with a small cone/cup shaped plastic knob (which is only a little smaller than the fish's mouths) instead of a magnet on a string as in the small, wind-up versions, catching fish isn't all that easy. It's not terribly hard, as I got the hang of it in a few minutes, but it's definitely not as easy as in the magnetic versions.
Lastly, the reason some people have trouble putting the game back into its box is because some of the fish are still in their "up" positions (sticking up, with their mouths open). You just need to rotate it manually until all fish are in their "down" positions. But be sure to only rotate it the way the thing normally rotates, though, otherwise you might damage it.
Also, I saw this at Target for less money.

Tomy Pop-Up Pirate Game Review

(More customer reviews)I'm a speech/language therapist, working with pre-schoolers age 3-5. They love this game! The anticipation of the pirate popping holds their interest (long enough to do their therapy) and they don't have to wait long for another turn. I wasn't thrilled about taking a toy with swords to school, but have only had to tell them once that "we don't fight with them, they're for the game." It has been frequently used, not treated too gently, but it is still in excellent working condition. I do not use the blue base included with the game, it seems unnecessary and only seems to make the game easier to tip over. The kids don't think they lose when the pirate pops, they think they won! Sometimes he jumps out on the first sword stuck in the barrel, other times it might be the last one! (I have no idea how this happens!) This is a very good beginner game, for learning turn-taking, although it is not particularly educational.

My 30mth old loves this game. A little long to play at his age, but it is designed for a little older age range. The four decks of cards are designed to increase literacy skills. If you draw an Alpha Pig card, you match the lower case letter on the card to the upper case letter on the board, Princess Presto cards you find the letter that the picture starts with. The last two sets of cards are a bit further along in development then he is(game is for 3+ by design), but that only means the game has room to grow with him. Wonder Red cards you need to rhyme with the words on the card, and Super Why cards, you replace the silly word with what makes sense. My husband and I assist him a lot if he lands on the last two set of cards. My son does not seem to mind and I love how educational and fun this game is. I love the great way to reinforce learned skills and introduce new ones. The best is he does not mind to wait his turn. This game not only would benefit the preschool crowd, but even K-1 remediation skills for those with delays or lack of prior exposure. I am buying a copy for my classroom for the literacy center.

(More customer reviews)We are on our third crocodile dentist! It is a wonderful wonderful toy that my developmentally delayed preschooler and his typical friend all LOVE. But I carry it to the park in a large toy bag and the past two copies have broken...when you press a tooth it won't stay down anymore. A good way around this might be to keep it in a box of it's own.
This is also a wonderful toy for parents following the RDI Steve Gutstein social therapy for children with Autism. Because this toy has an element of surprise, as you press each tooth you never know if this is the tooth that will cause the jaw to snap shut! Note: the snapping shut is fairly gentle and safe for preschoolers!

It's a good ice breaker, and it's great for the neighborhood gang. The board and pieces are in good shape but the box has been stepped on too many times. It prepares kids to think and develop ideas before presenting to a group. They laugh and have fun while practicing for school and career.

Cranium Cariboo Review

(More customer reviews)We bought this game because the next "level" of cranium game would be cadoo which is ages 7 &up. My daughter is 4.5 and it was fun the first 2 times we played it and then it got boring. Another reviewer had the right idea when they said to make variations up. It helps the game last much longer than if there were none. My daughter really likes the bouncy balls and the key though. Bottom line is that if your kids know their abc's and 123's then I would suggest you find another game. It's a great beginning game though!

Cootie Review

(More customer reviews)I recently ordered Milton Bradley's "Ants In The Pants" and "Cootie Bug" games for my 3 year old son. These games were a total blast from the past and I just had to get them when I saw them on your site. Ants In The Pants is great but Cootie Bug is NOT good for this age group. I was so disappointed because the game has too many little pieces, is a little more complicated than I remembered, and the game board was in pieces in minutes (flimsy cardboard). Suprisingly enough, my 3 year old son is really careful with his toys and is not "destructive" by any means. And although this toy was not expensive, it was a waste of money for his age group.
Just wanted to provide some feedback and possibly save some other parents some money. Wait until your kids are 4 or 5 for this one.
