We started using this for tummy time at about 3 months, and our little guy has been enthralled with it ever since. He would reach over and try to touch it and this really helped him learn to turn over. Now at 4.5 months he just can't get enough of it and plays with it daily. It was a gift and we NEVER thought we'd get so much use out of it. HIGHLY recommend!!!

Tiny Love 1-2-3 Discovery Lane Review

Tiny Love 1-2-3 Discovery Lane

Having previously bought the Gymini and being highly impressed with it (design and construction) I purchased the Discovery Lane. It was easy to construct, I had no problems filling the fish tank, once I had worked out that I had to squeeze the valve to open the slit in it. I initially made it up in the circle shape and its main failng soon became apparent. My son constantly got his hands and feet caught up between the pieces so that it wouldn't stay flat on the floor. I then tried it as the Lane and that was just as bad, and my son showed no interest in it, preferring to crawl off across the floor. As for the toys, I like the animals that make a noise, but Blake never managed to master pressing them (that goes for all toys with squeakers etc. inside them, not just the ones on this particular toy) although he likes it if I did. The velcro shapes ended up all over the house - he seemed to like them to hold onto but that was about it. He occasionally showed an interest in the mirror and surrounding sun, and some interest in the fish tank. I don't like the fabric as it seemed to go fuzzy quickly and bits cling to it, so it looks tacky pretty soon - maybe it went in the wash to often, but it should stand up to this, because babies of the age that it is aimed at, spit up a lot. Finally I tried it in the cone- shape but it just wouldn't hold it's shape. Eventually, I got fed up with it crumpled on the floor, threw the Lane away but kept all the toys. Blake likes to look in the mirror far more now, and still plays with the fish tank. the other toys hold no interest for him now. To any prospective buyer, don't bother to buy this toy - if you like the toys on it, it's better to look for similar ones sold separately

Vtech Move & Crawl Ball Review

Vtech Move and Crawl Ball

I bought this toy for my 8-month old to encourage him to start crawling. I looked at many and choose this one because of its dual features - I figured that once my son started to crawl he would have an interest in pressing the shapes and animal figures. Well, to start with the motion of the ball sucks! The first time I started it up, it rolled away from him then promptly back towards him and repeatedy smacked him in the head. This caused him to shy away from it for the longest time. Now that he can crawl, the added features are a waste of time. The voice proclaiming things like "it's a duck" goes off randomly without baby having to press the said animal so it teaches nothing about the animals or cause and effect. I should have returned this toy but waited too long - now it will just sit on the shelf gathering dust.
