(More customer reviews)I was initially concerned about the durability of this product since similar marble runs have been rated as low-quality or wobbly. HOWEVER, my concerns were quickly put to rest when my niece and I began constructing towers on Christmas Eve!
The pieces fit together easily and the bases are fairly sturdy on an even surface (we didn't have much trouble on the somewhat uneven carpet either, however). There are a ton of pieces (moreso than a lot of other marble runs) and there is an interesting variety of spirals, swirls, vortex pieces, spinners and slides.
My niece is 4, and really enjoys putting the marbles in to see where they go (bonus points if they shoot off to nowhere, in her opinion).
This set is designed for older kids if they're going to play on their own. HOWEVER, with adult guidance my 4 year old loves it and does very well with it...and mom and dad approve!
Bonus: This is just as much fun for adults to play with as it is for kids. It's great to have a toy that I don't mind playing with (EVERY time I'll be coming over). I'm seriously considering buying one for myself just to have around. It's great fun!

Our family is living in furnished apartment while we transition to a new house. Most of our toys are in storage. I bought a selection of toys to keep the boys (age 3 and ten months) in our small space. This toy is such a hit. Both boys like it. My ten month old is fascinated. He has played with it off and on all day long every day this week. I watch his coordination improve as he figures out how to start the music, etc. It's just wonderful fun!

Toddlerz Electronic Push Toy - Counting Corn Popper Review

(More customer reviews)I give this 4 stars, because I like it (maybe more than my toddler). When I was in kindergarten or 1st grade, my little brother, who was 1 or 2 at the time, had the original -- the one that just popped, and he loved it. He would push it around until the popping drove my father "crazy." This one does even more. It pops, counts from 1 to 10, plays music, and has flashing lights. I think it's an awesome toy, especially for the price. My daughter doesn't play with it every day, but when she grabs it, she'll push it around for maybe 10 minutes or more (we haven't found a single toy that will occupy her attention for longer than that). Sometimes, she'll push it around several times a day. It's great for that stage when your toddler likes to push or drag things around with them. The popping was inconsistent when we first received it, but we took it apart, got the gears aligned correctly (through trial & error), added more Vaseline to the gears for lubrication, and now it pops, counts, plays music, and the lights flash consistently every time. If you take this toy apart, be careful not to pull out the speaker wires -- we did that, but it was no problem. My husband soldered the wires back together.

(More customer reviews)I bought this toy for my 8-month old to encourage him to start crawling. I looked at many and choose this one because of its dual features - I figured that once my son started to crawl he would have an interest in pressing the shapes and animal figures. Well, to start with the motion of the ball sucks! The first time I started it up, it rolled away from him then promptly back towards him and repeatedy smacked him in the head. This caused him to shy away from it for the longest time. Now that he can crawl, the added features are a waste of time. The voice proclaiming things like "it's a duck" goes off randomly without baby having to press the said animal so it teaches nothing about the animals or cause and effect. I should have returned this toy but waited too long - now it will just sit on the shelf gathering dust.
