(More customer reviews)My nearly 3-year-old daughter received this as a gift - toy tools were requested because of her interest in Daddy's real ones. This set does not disappoint. From her "Oh my gosh!" upon opening the gift to playing with it every day it has been a winner. Daddy is especially impressed too.
The pieces are sturdy. They come apart and hold together where they are supposed to. The tape measure only allows measuring up to 24 inches, but it retracts well from being pulled all the way out. The drill drills "holes" in the piece of "wood", and it works Forward and Backward to screw and un-screw the nuts and bolts. The handles come off the two screw drivers to allow the phillips and flat head to attach to the working drill, allowing another way to work the screws into and out of the "wood". The hammer is solid but light, so it works well on the plastic nails but can't hurt any more than any other toy if used against someone. ;) The wrench and pliers have yet to see much use, but both seem like they will hold up to the use. The tool belt can't tighten enough to stay on my daughter's skinny waist, so it is sitting in the tool box waiting for another day. However, we fit all the pieces nicely onto it when trying it out the first day. The case itself is another sturdy piece. It holds all the pieces with extra room (we took the white plastic packaging out so all the pieces are tossed in there together).
This is a very inclusive set of tools for younger kids - boys or girls. I can see it being interesting up to at least age 5. Overall, a very good bet for a toddler/preschooler tool set.

(More customer reviews)I bought this for my 2 year old Bob the Builder fan. It is difficult to use the toolbox to hammer into, but if you turn it on it's side your builder can hammer all day long. It's a little tight at first, but after you hammer a couple of nails and pull them out it gets easier. I like this toolbox because its a little more difficult for little hands. My son has to really think about hitting the nails and turning the wrench and screwdriver, but he can do it. This set looks real and my son loves that. If he sees his daddy using tools he will go get his tools so he can help. Some kids might get frustrated with it, but I think that it's teaching fine motor skills.

The kids learn eye hand coordination and have a great time. I would suggest this to any parent. It is even great for the older kids, even 4 yr olds love it.

(More customer reviews)My grandkids liked this toy and being able to hammer. However this did not last long as the pegs were not all the same size and some would fall through as soon a you tapped them the first time. Consistant with other reviews that state the pegs and holes are not well made.

Fisher-Price Drillin' Action Tool Set Review

(More customer reviews)I'm not into clutter, but my 17 mth old son LOVES to help his daddy with projects in the garage. So, we bought him this drill which is so close to the real deal. HE LOVES IT. Plays with it every single day! Even my husband has told all his friends with youngsters they need this drill!!! It is great for drilling, but also fine motor skill screwing in the screws by hand, and pushing/pulling the nails. My sister is an occupational therapist and she thinks it's a great toy too! I still don't see how this toy is only $13! It's worth every single penny! One drawback, the drill bits do go astray... may be a good idea to buy two of these at this price! ;-)

(More customer reviews)I think this is a great toy and I'm sure my son will love to play with the blocks, but i payed over $40 dollars for what i thought was a lot of blocks based on the picture. The blocks are alot smaller than the picture and for the price i dont think this is a good buy. you could probly get them at wal-mart or something for a lot cheaper. To get the amount of blocks to compare to the picture you would probly need 2 or 3 sets.

Melissa & Doug Deluxe Wooden Pound-A-Peg Review

(More customer reviews)This toy feel apart on us not once but three times. First the head fell off the hammer the very first time my son used it. My husband thought that they had just not glued it well enough and just got out the wood glue to fix it no soon then we gave it to my son again and one of the sides fell off. My son is a typical little boy but he is not hard on his toys and was not using this in an unusual way. He has a similar toy at the montessori school that he goes to and loves it, but this is just too frustrating for him. We will be returning this toy and complaining to the manufacturer. It has the potential of being a 4 star toy if the thing would just stay together.
