(More customer reviews)My nearly 3-year-old daughter received this as a gift - toy tools were requested because of her interest in Daddy's real ones. This set does not disappoint. From her "Oh my gosh!" upon opening the gift to playing with it every day it has been a winner. Daddy is especially impressed too.
The pieces are sturdy. They come apart and hold together where they are supposed to. The tape measure only allows measuring up to 24 inches, but it retracts well from being pulled all the way out. The drill drills "holes" in the piece of "wood", and it works Forward and Backward to screw and un-screw the nuts and bolts. The handles come off the two screw drivers to allow the phillips and flat head to attach to the working drill, allowing another way to work the screws into and out of the "wood". The hammer is solid but light, so it works well on the plastic nails but can't hurt any more than any other toy if used against someone. ;) The wrench and pliers have yet to see much use, but both seem like they will hold up to the use. The tool belt can't tighten enough to stay on my daughter's skinny waist, so it is sitting in the tool box waiting for another day. However, we fit all the pieces nicely onto it when trying it out the first day. The case itself is another sturdy piece. It holds all the pieces with extra room (we took the white plastic packaging out so all the pieces are tossed in there together).
This is a very inclusive set of tools for younger kids - boys or girls. I can see it being interesting up to at least age 5. Overall, a very good bet for a toddler/preschooler tool set.

iPlay Cool Tools Activity Set Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this for my son who is almost two and a half because he has a big interest in tools. I chose this one over some of the more realistic sets because he has a baby brother on the way and I didn't want to get him something with too many choking hazards. I also liked that this has screws and bolts so he can practice actually using the tools.
Pros-
-cute talking shape sorter
-screw driver, hammer, and wrench can actually be used with the accompanying bolts, screws, and nails
-cute carrying case to contain all parts
Cons-
- TOO LOUD! This toy does not have a volume control and when the child turns the gears it plays children's songs at a high volume.
- no on/off switch. It would be nice to be able to turn the sound feature off, so the child could just practice the mechanic aspects of the toy.
- Toy does not come with the molded plastic insert shown in the picture. My child can rarely get all of the tools to fit inside by himself.
- The drill makes realistic drill sounds, but the bit does not turn. How hard would it have been to make that happen?
My child is enjoying this toy, but it is still fairly new. If I had had a chance to try it out before buying, I think I would have picked something else.

The straps that hold the tools are starting to come apart a little but that might be due to the way he removes the tools. Overall I am very happy with the product.

Now I just have to say, get your own 'measure' (as he calls it) and there is no more fighting. It's safe and is long enough that he feels he is actually helping daddy.
