I am an early childhood special educator that works with birth to three aged children and I have used it (supervised) with my kiddos of typical development, special needs, and children with autism that had the fine motor skills to put the shapes on the post. It has several shapes and colors that when matched on the appropriately colored posts aid in sorting and matching skills and are fun to watch as they go down the different shaped posts. It is a great way to work on pre-language skills and signs by holding a bunch and giving then a couple at a time encouraging the word or sign for 'more.' Great toy! The only downfall is that the holes are small and it is definitely geared toward the other 2's to 3's, but a great way to communicate, use circles of communication, interact, engage, play, and learn!

(More customer reviews)Our little guy got this puzzle when he was 23 months. It took some demonstration and help to get the idea of the magnet. When he first started, he finally ended up just placing the magnet on the car, without employing the "dangle method."
Now, at 25 months, this puzzle is a breeze. After a few times, he knew where the cars should go. Now he sometimes just feigns ignorance, giving me a sly look and grin as he places the piece on the wrong spot and croons, "Nooooo."
The addition of the magnet challenge adds interest. We can challenge him to get the blue car, or the pink one, etc. Helps him with his colors.
The recommended minimum age of 3 yrs is, I believe, may be too old. I'd suggest 2 yrs as a good age.

Eric Carle Polar Bear Touch and Stack Blocks Review

(More customer reviews)My 14 month old son has had these for awhile now and still plays with them almost every day. They are so versatile and colorful and he loves the different textures, especially the fuzzy polar bear block. I agree with the other reviewer though, if your baby is a chewer, these aren't the best. I took away the smallest block (which he loved because it has a rattle inside) because he was basically eating it and the cardboard was dissolving. The bigger blocks have been a big hit though. These would make a great gift too, because they are so pretty.

(More customer reviews)This is a winner! Its mostly taken the place of the real remotes in the house - which is great! I find it comical that some of the other parent review have said this toy is "not educational" or not much for "brain development". People - toddlers learn by playing. That is how their little brain develop. A toy remote is not a set of flashcards, but thankfully toddlers don't require flashcards to learn and develop their brains.
