The Grouchy Ladybug Game Review

The Grouchy Ladybug Game
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My children (ages 2 & almost 4) chose this game and they love it! The Grouchy Ladybug Game, a board game for ages 3 & up (has some small parts that could be a choking hazard) has illustrations based on the book by Eric Carle and a fun blue whale in the middle of the board that players can use to "slap" other players' ladybugs back to Start.
The game teaches basic counting, size comparisons, and manners and has nice, brightly-colored, sturdy game pieces.
If you're looking for a fun, educational, not overly plastic game for your young children, I think this game is a good place to start!

I really expected a little more of this than it actually is. The finger puppet pieces don't look much like the characters and the bear is so much bigger than all the others. My granddaughter seems to like it, but she LOVES the book.

Eric Carle Polar Bear Touch and Stack Blocks Review

Eric Carle Polar Bear Touch and Stack Blocks
Average Reviews:

My 14 month old son has had these for awhile now and still plays with them almost every day. They are so versatile and colorful and he loves the different textures, especially the fuzzy polar bear block. I agree with the other reviewer though, if your baby is a chewer, these aren't the best. I took away the smallest block (which he loved because it has a rattle inside) because he was basically eating it and the cardboard was dissolving. The bigger blocks have been a big hit though. These would make a great gift too, because they are so pretty.

Ten sturdy chipboard blocks feature whimsical, charming animal illustrations by Eric Carle, and can be used for nesting, stacking and teaching counting skills. Each block is dedicated to a different animal printed with a number form 1-10, the animal's name, the animal's sound, a tactile panel, a movable part, or a rattle. Excellent for parent-child interaction and helps develop motor skills.

Eric Carle ABC Game Review

Eric Carle ABC Game
Average Reviews:

While this game may provide educational value in helping your child recognize upper and lower case letters, it does so at the expense of any fun or playability. I agree with the review that calls it a 'bad game.' You basically have to set up 52 letter cards around the board (!) and then each player takes turns scanning them to find the one that matches the letter the landed on. That's about it. It's dull and adds confusing rules for little ones, and frankly some flashcards have more educational value. We tried to play it once and couldn't get through one game - our daughter just wanted to spin the spinner. Booo. Darn shame since she loves the books.

Based on Eric Carle's beautiful ABC Book, this game features his artistic letters-and the animals whose names start with them. Two to four young players hunt for the letter cards to match their space on the board also learning about the difference between capital and lower-cases. University Games. Ages: 3+

The Very Hungry Caterpillar - Game Review

The Very Hungry Caterpillar - Game
Average Reviews:

I was very exicted when my son got this game for Christmas, but my excitement was short-lived.
1. The game pieces are flimsy: four tiny cardboard boxes that fold together. Even before we played the first game, one of them was coming apart. There is no way that these pieces will last more than a couple weeks.
2. The instructions aren't clear. Are players supposed to stop at the "food" spaces no matter what, or only if they land on them? We played both ways.
3. Both ways were dull. It is just not very exciting or imaginitive.
The only good thing is that the game should fall apart quickly, so I'll have an excuse to get rid of it.

University Games Brown Bear-Panda Bear, What Do You See? Game Review

University Games Brown Bear-Panda Bear, What Do You See Game
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have been looking for a game (board game to be exact) that I could play with my 2 1/2 yr old AND my 5 yr old. So many of the games my 5 yr old can play are just too advanced for my daughter. When I saw this game I took a chance .. esp since she LOVES all of Eric Carle's book. We have played this game almost daily since we received it at Christmas. My 2 1/2 yr old LOVES it. We don't follow the exact rules with her. I put the tiles into 2 piles (one for her / one for me). We each take a turn finding the animal on the tile and placing it on the matching piece on the board. This is something my daughter can do and really enjoys it. We talk about the different colors of the animals and the different sounds they make as we play.
I wanted to share this information as I know so many people have younger children who want to play games just like their older siblings. Here is a game that you can all play together and have fun.
I'll def start buying this game as a bday present for our 2 yr old friends. It's so fun to see them play it. Enjoy!
