(More customer reviews)This guy ( or girl ) is soooooooo cute and what a singer. And, polite too ( always says hello and goodbye or goodnight ). The voice is amazing and so adorable. I recommend you get two or three and they will harmonize. Kids can control the speed of the song it sings and it is very portable. WE LOVE OURS ( we have about 8 and they sound like a chorus ). Best age ( 2-10 ). Buy one, you'll be hooked for life. Now, don't ask me what species they are but they sure can carry a tune.

Bird's The Word Elmo Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this for my son last Christmas. He was 20 months old then. What a disappointment! Don't get me wrong, we LOVE Elmo! I also have a very high tolerance for "noisy" toys. It just repeats the same thing over & over. Very annoying! He also flaps his 'wings' and wobbles forward. That works OK if he is on a flat surface, but if he is on carpet or runs into ANYTHING he falls over and squirms. My son played with it for about 3 minutes & would never play with it again. I felt guilty selling it in my garage sale for $[...].

The tickle-me-elmo is just plain annoying unless you're 2 or have had unfortunate head trauma recently. Otherwise they are cute and you can hear what they say fine. They have 3 functions but the one harmonizing notes with other Singamajigs is so so cute. You press one and it starts on a note and when you press the other doll, it changes pitch to be in harmony. Really cute idea and one that has intrigued all the kids in my house from 4 to 17. I think even the 17 yo and myself played with them more!

We had it in the back of the car on a 400-mile drive and it played every time we hit a little bump. The cats set it off just by getting near it. (In fact, it was playing inside the Amazon box when the UPS guy dropped it off). Our older son has a similar Wiggles guitar and it has an off switch, and I wouldn't buy this again had I known of this absurd omission.

The Sing-A-Ma-Jigs- Dark Purple Review

(More customer reviews)The big dilemma on these, initially for me, was which ones to choose. You'll probably want more than one - since half the fun is "playing them" together so they harmonize. (Note: they harmonize singing different songs - so it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea.) Anyway, below I've provided a breakdown on the various ones and why I liked this one out of those purchased.
As a pure review of the toy in general: Originally I was attracted to these for my just turned six year old niece because they reminded me of some sort of mad mash between a singing stuffed Barney dinosaur teddy bear and Mr. Bill of SNL fame. Either way, my niece, her friends, I, her parents and pretty much everyone else couldn't resist them. The three I purchased all came w/ worn down batteries that had to be replaced before they could sing the song. (I suspect an employee couldn't resist playing them at the store before they made them to us:)
Dark Purple is a fave, not only because the color has a natural appeal w/ pre-school princesses but it also can harmonizes both low and high (some are just high and some just low). The song is "My Darling Clementine" - which also oddly turned out to be a fave (given that her tastes run more towards Justin Beiber's "Baby")
