(More customer reviews)We purchased this award-winning set for our preschool-aged son who really enjoys toys like Marble Run, Legos, and Brio. We thought it a good fit for his mechanical engineering interests. The set itself is fairly durable and small hands can easily manipulate the chunky pieces which fit together snugly. The handled storage container is an added convenience. However, soon after purchase I noticed (like other reviewers) that my son was not motivated to play with this set on his own. Often, it would go undisturbed for months. One day, his preschool teacher said they were interested in purchasing this set for the classroom. Because of my own experience I cautioned her on the purchase and offered our set to the class for a "test drive." To my surprise, for the week it was on loan it was the most played with toy in the room. My son seemed to love the kit at school, but not at home. I realized that this toy is at it's best with a group of children because they can so easily work and create together. In a group setting the toy became fun, cooperative play. Because this set offers a generous number of four-sided building pieces, chilren can add-on and build from all sides. I can understand why in a previous review a Kingergarten teacher gave this toy five stars...because that is the environment this toy was made for it seems. It would be best for families with multiple children of similar age, play groups, and classroom learning. As a parent, I love this quality toy and the creativity and cooperation it inspires but now, we keep the bucket at Grandma's house. When all of the Grandkids are there they spill out the parts and go to work.

(More customer reviews)I bought this as a gift for my 8 year old niece. The pieces are unbelievably cute. Actually it was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. So much so that I'm ordering another set with different accessories for her birthday gift. As for the brown box packaging, big deal! It's what's inside the box that counts. If it really matters, then print out a picture of what it is and glue it to the box. Jeesh!!

(More customer reviews)My daughter absolutely loves this toy. I think it's a little hard to figure out the setup of it and it doesn't come with instructions, but it's just off imagination. She isn't usually a toy player. She would rather rip apart books, but these toy really grabbed her attention. She loved the big googly eyes on the characters. She had a lot of fun building her sets and plays with this toy daily.

Shady Pine Homestead Lincoln Logs Review

(More customer reviews)What a joke. A huge bucket only a quarter full of logs. On top of it, the logs are almost all the one-inch variety which produce houses with columns instead of walls.
Please, for the price of this product can I actually build a house with walls?
Would not recommend...Hit up an auction site and buy bulk logs. It's probably to the point where the rip-off logs are better than the original.

Roylco Straws and Connectors - 705 Piece Review

I'd also like to see the price come down a little. when it said 705 pieces they are couting the little tiny connectors as well as the straws. I didn't realize that when I bought it. But overall we were pleased.

Magneatos (36 Piece Set) Review

(More customer reviews)I have nothing but positive things to say about this toy. I purchased it for my 1 yr. old, not expecting her to get much play value out of it initially. However, a year later it has brought her -- and her father! -- constant play value. From learning about "apart" and "together, color grouping, magnetic polarity, learning shapes, stringing together, rolling, and everthing in between, the excellence of Magneatos seems basically limitless. And although she can't build complicated structures at this point, she enjoys watching us make different sculptures that she can help manipulate, break apart, and reconstruct. Another fantastic thing about this toy is that the magnets are just the right strength -- they stay stuck together when they need to, but are also easy to pull apart, avoiding frustrating a toddler.
I recommend (and have recommended) this to everyone I know.

(More customer reviews)I bought this for my K'nex obsessed son because they supposedly work with K'nex. I suppose they do, but they BREAK. In fact they break ALL the time! Evidently it's something the manufacturer is quite aware of because there's an illustration in the instruction book about how you can use them in their new forms when they break!
My son decided to stick with his K'nex and I'm out an Uber lot of money.
