Little Tikes Builder's Bay Sand & Water Table Review

(More customer reviews)We purchased this toy this spring and it has been quite popular with my 2 and 4 year olds. However, after less than 4 months outside, it is showing some signs of wear. The elastics that hold the top panels on when it isn't being used are totally stretched out and don't hold the top on. The table fills up with water each time it rains (big mess!). The umbrella is pretty flimsy and has to be stored inside or it blows away with a little wind.
The kids really make a mess with this and never did keep water on one side and sand on the other. If you are the kind of parent who likes order, this toy will drive you crazy as the kids will constantly mix water with sand and sand with water. The crane isn't all that fun and just gets in the way. Overall, the kiddos like it, but it is a bit pricey for what you actually get.

(More customer reviews)My husband and I bought this for our 2 1/2-year-old daughter and she absolutely loves it! She plays in it every day. We liked the idea of natural look so it would not stand out like a sore thumb in the backyard. It is big enough to hold my daughter and two of her friends. She also has a 6-year-old cousin who loves to play in it. They play for hours in it. The sides have little blocks on the corners for the kids to sit while in the sandbox and they are sturdy enough for an adult to sit on. The cover is high and rounded at the top so we are able to store all of her sand toys in the box. We are very happy with this purchase and would recommend this Step 2 product to anyone looking for a sandbox for young children.

(More customer reviews)Bought this for son's 1st bday. A bit on the pricey side for what you get. I had anticipated ~25% increased size compared to what it is in reality. It's just big enough, though it would've been nicer if it was a bit larger so that we could fit more boats/toys to float/race in it. My larger dissapointment (which is why I didn't give it 5 stars) is because the pieces don't 'snap' into their respective places so it is very easy for my son to take it apart vs. play w/ the intended function of each piece. With that said, my son & daughter both love to play with it.

I looked at a few sand and water tables & settled on this one because of the spinning accessories (they all seemed pretty similar otherwise) Comprably, the price was pretty good, too. I must say, we are really pleased with this purchase. Not only does my son LOVE it, but I found it very well made. Its really easy to put together (no tools needed!) but still nice & sturdy. It's also lightweight and easy to store. The entire table breaks down for compact storage. The table has two deep sections (so far we've used both for water- maybe we'll do sand in the future) Its a nice height for toddlers, and it comes with some really cute accessories. The scoops are perfect for little hands and the accesories are sturdy, too. They have withstood some abuse from my son. It has a sectional lid, so you could have one side covered while leaving the other open, or cover both. The lid fits nicely and has a little road design on top, so when not used for messy stuff, it could also serve as a play surface. Overall, I'm very pleased. I think its well worth the price. Its not cheap, for sure (considering its just molded plastic) but I learned pretty quickly that kids stuff is just expensive- even the junk- so I guess my expectations were low ;) . We try not to overindulge our son with 'stuff', but felt a toy like this would serve a multi-educational purpose, so we splurged. Pleased to say we weren't disappointed.

Step2 Naturally Playful Sand Table Review

(More customer reviews)We purchased after a prior small (3' by 3') sand box was broken in a move. Living in an apartment, we only have small patio space to put our outdoor toys on, and because my son is older now (4) we opted for the table rather than sand box. So far, after having it outside for one month with several rainy days, we've experienced no leaking like other reviewers mentioned. It's great for building sand castles, digging tunnels, etc. My only complaint is that it's a bit shallow (about 4" deep), but this doesn't really stop the fun.
The upside is that is holds one 50 lb. bag of sand, about $4-6 worth. Just a side note: make sure when you are purchasing sand that it is play-grade, and silica-free. Home Depot's store brand of play sand does have silica, you will know that it has silica if there are cancer warnings on the bag. Lowe's offers Silica-free play sand at $5/50 lb. bag.
The bucket and scoops that are included are fun too.

Kidoozie Little Tuffies Trucks Review

(More customer reviews)These trucks are great - they are simply made, but nearly indestructible. My son is 16 months old and he drops them, throws them, bites them and has a lot of fun, with little visible wear and tear.
BUT the best thing is that they were so cheap - found them in a big bin at Toys R Us for $1 each (3 bucks for all three). Check around first on pricing....
