Fisher-Price Little People Wheelies All About Working Review

(More customer reviews)I bought these so we would have some more cars to use with the Stand `n Play Rampway, but unfortunately, only one of these cars makes it down the ramps with any consistency. Even though they are Little Wheelies branded cars, they are all too top heavy and end up flying off the track halfway down.
They are still cute little cars, and my 1 year old son doesn't really seem to care if they actually make it all the down or not... I still feel like it's a little disappointing.
Well, as disappointing as a $10 toy can be, which ultimately isn't a lot in the grand scheme of things.

Matchbox Stinky The Garbage Truck Review

(More customer reviews)I wasn't sure about oredering Stinky unitl I saw You.Tube video of him. Stinkty came and my son loved him. It took him a day to learn all of Stinky's functions but he was aving fun with him right out of the box. Stinky performs everything as demonstrated. I did find one drawback. It would have been nice if the Matchbox have included a volume control in the design- Stinky is loud. I couldn't find anyway to muffle him but that is the only drawback. One other thing you should know is in the manufacturers directions it advises that Stinky not be played wit outside as dirt, sand and wter can cause him to malfunction so if you child takes him in the sandbox- he isn;t going to work and that's a lot of money to pay for a fancy Tonka toy. I think Matchbox shuld tell you that up front.
All said my four year old really seems to like playing with him. Amazon's price with free delvery was competitive with anything I've seen in stores and he is way cheaper than Big Foot who to me doesn't really do much of anything.

The Automoblox did all of these things and more. The both our grand daughter and grand sons played with them the day of the birthday party and the next morning they were one of the first things they got out. They are simple, well made, and educational. Parts from the same size of cars interchange with any of the others that same size. We like that if a part gets lost you can order another rather than just having a broken toy. I am sure that the collection will grow with our grandchildren! The minis were the perfect size to fit in the hand of our grandson that was turning 3.

My son loves this toy, but the pieces are always falling apart (it is a toolbox shape that opens and folds back up) The hinged pieces are always coming apart. I have stopped bothering to put it together to put it away. It is a very annoying toy because of this. They could have totally improved the design on this toy and I would have given it a good rating. I wouldn't recommend it until the manufacturer decides to put money and thought into the design. I find it to be a cheap piece of junk that didn't have to be.

Small World Express Tailgate Trio Construction Review

(More customer reviews)This is a great toy for preschool kids. I was afraid it looked a little babyish but they didn't notice and probably won't for at least another year or so. Any child old enough to push a car around on the floor can enjoy this toy. It doesn't take any skill to hook them together, it's just fun. Don't know how educational it is as we didn't discuss magnets. I'm not sure that is part of the preschool agenda.
I bought this trio and also the emergency vehicle trio by the same maker; for some reason my grandkids prefer the construction trio. Don't really know why, but it doesn't matter as it will more than likely vary from child to child. Most kids this age enjoy hooking things together so I knew this would be a hit with at least one of the triplets, actually 2 out of 3 love it. The other little guy prefers to play with sticks, stones, and butterflies out in the yard :)
ETA: Manufacturer suggests ages 3 and up due to choking problems which would only happen if the toy is dismantled. So far it seems pretty sturdy.

Green Toys Dump Truck Review

(More customer reviews)My daughter saved her allowance for this truck, and we were thrilled to find it on Amazon for 35% off the list price, so we really got a great deal on it. In fact we bought two - the other as a gift for our friends' son.
Let me say first: I love Green Toys. I love that they are a US-based company that recycles and makes really cool simple toys that are 100% safe. And I love the classic chunky-style of this dump truck.
However, I think it's ridiculous that the wheels don't roll on hardwood floors (our house is all hardwood floors, save for a couple area rugs). It's a notch better on the rugs, and outdoors in the grass. The wheels still seem reluctant to turn, even on terrain they can grip on. This seems like such an obvious design flaw. Didn't they test drive the dump truck before mass-producing it? I mean, we're talking wheels and an axle here, it's not rocket science.
We decided to keep it anyway, or rather my daughter did. It was her purchase, after all. She doesn't seem to mind terribly sliding it around indoors. It gets the most use in the sandbox anyway.
I guess if I had to buy it again, heck, I probably would... at least if it were on sale again. Who knows, we might add the recycle truck to the collection despite the fact I suspect it would have the same flaw... if it goes on sale. I guess it comes down to this: Do you want a safe toy? Or one that works? OK, I want both. Maybe I'll disassemble the thing and see if there's an easy fix.
In summation, this is definitely not Green Toys' best effort.

I purchased this as a back up when TOMY informed me they no long support parts and our engine was acting up. (More customer reviews)These cars are so much fun! Just as the name says, you just shake it up and it goes. My son has several of these and they all have slightly different reactions. Some are faster than others.
They work best on a hard surface - Cement, hardwood floors, tile. They go pretty slow on carpet.
The cars are very durable. One of my son's favorite games is to launch them off the deck and see if he can get it to land on the grass below. If the weather isn't nice, he likes to send them racing down the stairs. So far, nothing has broken and its been over six months.
These cars are easy for my daughter (who is only two) to play with too. The kids love shaking with the cars and racing to see who's car goes the farthest.

Automoblox Mini A9 /M9 /X9-X 3-Pack by Automoblox Review

(More customer reviews)These are among the most simple but clever toys we have seen. Our 3 1/2 yr old son got the mini set as a gift a few years ago and they are still his most favorite toys. He also got one of the larger ones, which has not been as popular with him maybe b/c he has only one and can't interchange the parts. He really loves to mix and match the minis and to create stretch limousines w/the parts! My only compalaint is that he's already managed to break several of the rubber tires, although it's not surprising since this kid manages to break practically anything and usually does so within the first few hours of playing with it (the Automoblox lasted for several months without any damage!). I was glad to see from someone else's review that you can re-order missing or broken parts (we've also managed to lose a few of the wheels and tires even though we don't let him take them out of the house... hmmm). Just be careful if you have younger kids since the wheels and tires on the minis and the little people in the larger ones are definite choking hazards.
