Fisher-Price Bubble Mower Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this bubble mower for my three-year-old son. He was so excited that he had me wedge the big box on the floor in front of his seat so he straddled it for the half-hour ride home. Of course, we assembled it the moment we arrived home.
At first, it didn't blow bubbles, it just sputtered them in the wheel with the holes. We tried it many times (took way more than twenty steps - more like two hundred) and I noticed bubbles were trying to form but then they'd pop immediately. I re-read the directions several times. Fisher-Price is a trusted company and I was sure they wouldn't manufacture a toy that really didn't perform. I was getting pretty upset and my son was very disappointed. As a last resort, I took the mower and rinsed the bubble solution out and replaced it with a different brand of bubble solution. I almost didn't do it because I thought there was no way the 'engine' could be clogged - it was brand new!
But it worked. Now my son pushes it only ten steps or so and it starts spitting out groups of bubbles just like the picture on the box. Apparently, it was the original bubble solution that caused the 'malfunction'.
The solution I switched to was the huge 100 ounce Miracle Bubbles from Wal-Mart. But, even with this, you must be careful that the mower doesn't get shaken around a lot because if the bubble solution becomes foamy it will not blow bubbles. It does seem to take normal walking around very well.
I hope this solution works for anyone else who bought this mower. It's really cute and my son loves it.

Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Corn Popper Push Toy Review

(More customer reviews)We purchased this toy for our son when he was learning to walk (at 9 months of age) and now he's 15 months old and still loves it. It's his favorite toy of all. He pushes it, pulls it, bangs the floor with it, chases the cats with it, gives it to me to push while he watches the "popcorn" pop and even this morning he was sliding it on the dome instead of on it's wheels. YES, it is noisy and it's not fun to have in the background while trying to talk on the phone, but it keeps a busy toddler happy! I wouldn't recommend it as a "learning to walk" toy because it's not 100% stable but for someone who is stable already, I'd highly recommend it!

Fisher-Price? Laugh & Learn Learning Vacuum Cleaner Review

(More customer reviews)I like most of Fisher Price's Laugh and Learn products so I was very disappointed with this vacuum. I have similar complaints as the previous review:
1) The height of the vacuum is VERY short. My daughter is 20 months and on the short side. She almost has to bend over to use it already. I don't know how they market this for up to 3 years of age. It would definitely be too small for a 3 year old.
2) The big purple wheels in the back turn but there is this plastic molding that is in the shape of a wheel underneath the vacuum cleaner that doesn't turn at all. It just drags on the ground. So this would be ok if you use it on carpeting but on hardwood floor, it almost scrapes up the ground. I don't understand by they didn't make this front "wheel" actually spin too.
3) The vacuum doesn't stay upright! It's a pain to store because I have to prop it up with something. If i don't, it just lays on the ground and takes up a lot of space. Everytime my daughter is playing with it, she has to bend all the way to the floor to get to the handle.
4) There aren't many features to this at all. The only features are the on/off switch and the wheels/front part that spin and make music. There is this red knob and green spinning ball that do nothing at all.
5) I don't know why this is called "Laugh and LEARN". There is really no learning. They sing the alphabet so fast that I can barely keep up, let alone a 2 year old.
I haven't looked into any other toy vacuum cleaners but for the price of this, I would have expected it to do a lot more and have better features.

(More customer reviews)It's so adorable but it doesn't even approximate a scale. I would say that 3 or 4 of the notes are about right, and the rest are so flat that they're nearly a whole note off. Playing chopsticks is almost unrecognizable. So if what you're looking for is musical exposure, you may be disappointed. If you want a cute toy for kids to bang on, you can't get much cuter than this.

John Deere - Electronic Lawn Mower Review

(More customer reviews)The was the first lawn mower toy I bought for my son (we ended up buying a 2nd mower, the Fisher Price lawn mower, to replace this one) and it was on sale, and now I know why. I bought it at the beginning of the summer when he was 18 months ago. I think they (him and his twin sister) have played with it for a total for 10 minutes. They always choose another lawn mower (we inherited another Fisher Price lawn mower) or toy over this one.
Here are the things I was disappointed about:
1. the handle does not stay up. If my son, or me, let go of the handle it went right to the ground, doesn't seem like a big issue but not much fun for him if I am trying to hand the handle to him and we aren't in synch and he misses the hand off.
2. the body is so tall it is hard to fit in the basket of the stroller to take to the park
3. the sounds are so soft it is hard to hear them if there is any noise in the backyard

Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Melody Push Chime Review

My daughter can play with it for hours (which she does) and never drive me crazy. The toy is light weight, durable, easy to take to grandma's house and hours of fun for your child. Wonderworld Twisty Crab Review

(More customer reviews)My son totally loves this toy. We brought him to the toy shop and he chose this among the other toys for his 1st birthday. He walks his twisty crab around the house a lot. The design gets a tot's attention very well. He has always played this toy with adult supervision because of the small wooden rings that are attached to the eye area. My husband fears that they might get unfastened and this is a choking hazard. This morning, my son was playing with it and he pulled the rings. They came undone. If you are planning to buy this, it's important that someone is watching the toddler every minute he's playing with this.

We thought it was pretty but sort of like a hippie adult's idea of a good toy, nothing she would like as much as her toys that make noises and flash. Little did we know! She loves it, understands what it's supposed to do, and I think it really does help balance and coordination. I highly recommend it as a gift or in your home. I didn't know it was supposed to ring a bell, though. I don't think ours does. Thank god.

Maxim EverEarth Activity Walker Review

It's sturdy enough that it doesn't go too fast for beginning walkers (light plastic ones tend to 'shoot out' causing your wee one to take a nose dive). It seems to be a "green" item, although it is made in china, which means you are riding on faith and hoping that EverEarth follows up to make sure the paints aren't full of lead, etc. My 8 month old has been chewing on the stick for the xylophone and a little paint did scrape off, so I put that piece up high. The capacity for the paint to come off is probably why this toy is labeled 18 mo+. Overall a good toy though; it's not noisy, it's solid and the activities are fun for babies/toddlers. Also, assembly was easy, clear directions.

When I was in kindergarten or 1st grade, my little brother, who was 1 or 2 at the time, had the original -- the one that just popped, and he loved it. He would push it around until the popping drove my father "crazy." This one does even more. It pops, counts from 1 to 10, plays music, and has flashing lights. I think it's an awesome toy, especially for the price. My daughter doesn't play with it every day, but when she grabs it, she'll push it around for maybe 10 minutes or more (we haven't found a single toy that will occupy her attention for longer than that). Sometimes, she'll push it around several times a day. It's great for that stage when your toddler likes to push or drag things around with them. The popping was inconsistent when we first received it, but we took it apart, got the gears aligned correctly (through trial & error), added more Vaseline to the gears for lubrication, and now it pops, counts, plays music, and the lights flash consistently every time. If you take this toy apart, be careful not to pull out the speaker wires -- we did that, but it was no problem. My husband soldered the wires back together.

(More customer reviews)My son got 2 ride ons for his first birthday. We got the Tonka Scoot 'n Scoop and my grandma got him this Little People ride on Bus. He opened the Little People one first and that was the end of opening presents. He just wanted to play with this toy. He loves being pushed around and my 2.5 yr old daughter and him take turns riding while the other pushes. He LOVES it! He doesn't like the Tonka ride on very much at all so this is the way to go.
The only problem with the toy is the handle on the back doesn't *snap* in or anything. It can come out if the kids lift it up.

(More customer reviews)My 9 month old daughter LOVES this toy. She is so amazed to be mobile. Right now, she can only manage to push it in a straight line. It seems hard to maneuver for beginning walkers. Luckily, we have an open floor plan so she can go right from the living room through the kitchen into the dining room before she has to stop and turn around. I can see her using this for awhile though... putting dollies on it and pushing them around. She wants to play with it every day and gets upset when she can't.
So far we have had no problems. I read reviews that complained that the handle bar comes unglued. The version I received has a screw holding the handle bar in place. We've had it for a month and no defects have come about.

She loves to push this toy around and make the bunnies hop up and down, and she loves to take the bunnies off and kiss them. (And the fact that they come off means they're easily washable!) However, even at 16 months this toy was very short for her. She has to bend over significantly to push it. Great toy for a younger, shorter child!

It looks cute as anything and I have been happy w/ all of my son's (2 yrs old), "CAT" tractors, trucks etc. I wanted to have the cool "big boy" present, unfortunately it doesn't hold up to a boy's love, The dump truck bed continues to fall off, which makes it easier to ride but a pain for mom and dad to put on all of the time. (More customer reviews)I bought this toy for my daughter's first birthday, and everyone in the family absolutely loves it. My daughter thinks that she is such a big girl driving around the neighborhood, and she prefers it to her stroller, hands down. It is sturdy, turns well, and looks cute. The removable handle is wonderful for trips as the car fits in our trunk beautifully. The handle is a godsend for parents since you will definitely be pushing this around many times for a long time. The storage compartment is really fantastic also - for all of those treasures that must go along. I think that it would be neat if the car made more realistic sounds, but my daughter doesn't mind in the least. She loves it. My only suggestion to Step2 would be to put little doors on the side so that children will not be tempted to drag their feet on the ground which my daughter occasionally does. However, parenting is not as much fun in the vehicular department without this toy. As my husband said, "this is one of the best toys that you have brought home!!!" Go get one today
