(More customer reviews)My son is 22 months old and he loves this toy. We already have lots of leapfrog or fisher price educational toys for him so this one is a nice change. He loves to see the balls or cars running down the track and coming out thru the tunnel at the bottom. The track is wide enough for him to play with his other balls and little cars from home so he won't get bored easily. U can put your object behind the gate or at the open area with the red button. U press down the traffic light and the gate would open.
The only part that needs batteries is the traffic light and you can just switch it off if you don't like the sound effect. It's easy to assemble and sturdy enough for a toddler. But, of course, if your baby decided to climb on it, that's a different story.
Overall, it's a simple but fun toy to collect for your toddler. It would keep him busy for a good amount of time.

(More customer reviews)My 10-month-old son LOVES this toy. I almost didn't buy it because there's no volume control, but I'm so glad I did. It also helped him learn to crawl because he was so motivated to chase after it. It's very easy for him to get the train to go -- the button on top is easy for a baby to push.
He loves grabbing the balls as they spin around inside the train and then putting them back in again. The different settings are good (spinning balls vs. balls falling out the back; stationary vs. moving train), and you can also turn the center wheel on the underside of the toy to make the train go in a circle instead of a straight line. The train will also move on carpet if the pile isn't too thick.
Only downsides are that there's no volume control--it's pretty loud--and the tunes get stuck in your head.

(More customer reviews)We purchased this toy for our son when he was learning to walk (at 9 months of age) and now he's 15 months old and still loves it. It's his favorite toy of all. He pushes it, pulls it, bangs the floor with it, chases the cats with it, gives it to me to push while he watches the "popcorn" pop and even this morning he was sliding it on the dome instead of on it's wheels. YES, it is noisy and it's not fun to have in the background while trying to talk on the phone, but it keeps a busy toddler happy! I wouldn't recommend it as a "learning to walk" toy because it's not 100% stable but for someone who is stable already, I'd highly recommend it!

I bought a selection of toys to keep the boys (age 3 and ten months) in our small space. This toy is such a hit. Both boys like it. My ten month old is fascinated. (More customer reviews)First for the drawbacks; 1)It is easy to lose the balls if you don't make a point of collecting them after play and keeping them somewhere safe, 2)There is music that plays continuously while it is on, which can be annoying for some, and 3)The play cycle is rather short so you or baby must keep pressing plunger to start it again. This might be a welcome respite for those offended by #2.
BUT: All four of my boys LOVED this toy!!! A favorite, and a toy I always buy or recommend to others. Perfect for a boy or girl. My boys were enthralled by the colorful balls shooting out of the hole and amazed when they almost always went where they were supposed to, which is around the ramp and back into the receptacle. They also LOVED to feel the air blow out of the toy (the air is what pushes the ball up and out of the hole) and would often just press the plunger to feel the air on their faces, hands and in their hair. They quickly learned to start the toy themselves and would be entertained by it longer than they would be by other toys. All of my boys got this toy for their first birthdays (I am a toy manufacturers dream, I sell toys in Mom2Mom sales after on child outgrows them and then end up buying them again for subsequent kids-- can't stand clutter and feel they deserve their own stuff).

When I was in kindergarten or 1st grade, my little brother, who was 1 or 2 at the time, had the original -- the one that just popped, and he loved it. He would push it around until the popping drove my father "crazy." This one does even more. It pops, counts from 1 to 10, plays music, and has flashing lights. I think it's an awesome toy, especially for the price. My daughter doesn't play with it every day, but when she grabs it, she'll push it around for maybe 10 minutes or more (we haven't found a single toy that will occupy her attention for longer than that). Sometimes, she'll push it around several times a day. It's great for that stage when your toddler likes to push or drag things around with them. The popping was inconsistent when we first received it, but we took it apart, got the gears aligned correctly (through trial & error), added more Vaseline to the gears for lubrication, and now it pops, counts, plays music, and the lights flash consistently every time. If you take this toy apart, be careful not to pull out the speaker wires -- we did that, but it was no problem. My husband soldered the wires back together.

(More customer reviews)Look closely at the picture on the box. You will see that there are strings that are connecting the middle structure to the furthest away part of the rails. The reason for this is that the rails are not very rigid and without the strings, the rails will deflect so much due to the weight of the marble that they will fall off. The instructions have a few designs that the Skyrail can be made into, and due to the rails not being that rigid, there is not much more you can do with it. It might be a good toy for those that can follow instructions well, like to put together a lot of parts, are satisfied with the few configurations, that are careful enough not to break the parts, have the patients to adjust the strings properly, and are gratified with the sound of the marble going around. If that does not describe the child you are getting it for, then it will likely be constructed a couple of times and then sit in the corner and occasionally be switched on for a few minutes.

(More customer reviews)My 12 month old loves the little spring loaded hammer that came with this toy, plus he loves to place the balls on the little path and let them wind down and shoot out the bottom, it is also nice that all the balls work in any slot, so better with younger ones who haven't figured matching yet. The balls are nice and hollow, which was my fear with the wooden versions, throwing instills less fear considering we have alot of mirrors/tvs on the walls.

(More customer reviews)I must admit that when my mom gave this toy to my 12 month old, I didn't think it would be a hit - boy was I wrong! Both the baby and my 3 1/2 year old think the ball fountain is neat.
With this toy you push the plunger, the music starts and the balls begin popping out of the top, rolling down the shoot and popping out the top again. Sometimes the balls just keep going through the circuit and sometimes they fly out of the toy and roll across the floor. My daughters enjoy it all!
From a parent point, the negatives are that the music is a little annoying and the five balls roll all over and need to be picked up again and again. The positive is that it keeps my little ones engrossed. The 3 1/2 year old can operate it all by herself and the 1 year old can play with it with only a little assistance from me (helping her corral loose balls and pushing the plunger).
We haven't had any trouble with the sturdiness of the balls, but the yellow funnel does get knocked off occasionally. It goes back on easily enough, but disrupts the play temporarily.
Bottom line is that we really like this toy and are happy to have it in our toy collection

Small World Express Roll-A-Round Review

(More customer reviews)We got this for our son for his first birthday and he has so much fun with it, but the sections don't stay together. He almost had more fun breaking the sections apart then rolling the balls down. We finally had to resort to super glue to keep the thing together so he could play with it for more than 10 seconds before knocking it down. the sections just sit on top of eachother, they don't lock into place. Fun toy, but get some super glue when you first put it together.
