Learning Curve Brands Super Why - Touch and Learn Super Duper Computer Review

Learning Curve Brands Super Why - Touch and Learn Super Duper Computer
Average Reviews:

I bought this for my 3.5 year old son for Christmas as he loves Superwhy and asked for a Superwhy computer. Seemed like it would be a great toy to reinforce learning from the show.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend it to a friend because
1) the sound quality is so bad it's really hard for my son and any adult to understand what letter sounds they are asking for; therefore it is frustrating for my son to learn as neither he or I can get the answers right
2) the graphics are really low budget and it is hard to distinguish the V from a Y for example
3) you are supposed to use the why writer and touch the screen but you have to touch the screen perfectly for it to respond so my son ends up tapping on the screen a half dozen times to get it to respond
4) keypad letters are also hard to push and have to get it just right for the computer to respond
5) the superwhy theme song plays in the background the entire time and it will drive you up the wall if your kid is playing for even 5 minutes (just think what 20 minutes of the song will do to any sane adult
6) it takes a long time for the computer to register your answer and respond if you get it right or wrong that the pace of the game will drive any quick or active child to look for something else to do.
The good qualities are that it is superwhy so it had recognition points from my son and he is willing to put up with the poor quality just to see his characters on the screen and this toy seems really durable.
Maybe I got a lemon, but I don't think so. For the price, I expected better. There are much better computers out there with better graphics, sounds and learning games for about half the price but aren't licensed SuperWhy. Bummed when I saw a computer at Target for literally more than half off. Bought that computer and am giving it to my son for his fourth birthday to replace this one.

Vtech - Nitro Junior Notebook Review

I bought this as a gift for my three year old. He is very advanced so I was not worried about if he would be smart enough to use it. It has a lot of good educational games. My son always wants to be on my laptop and that is another reason I got this. The part of the screen that has the games on it is very small and is hard to see. I would have liked to have something like this that the entire screen is used. It would be easier to see and it would look more like a computer.

Vtech Tote and Go Laptop Review

Vtech Tote and Go Laptop
Average Reviews:

Wow! I am so glad I bought this. After reading reviews on all of the other "laptops" for children, I decided on this one after thorough research. Most complaints with other parents on the other laptops was about the LCD screen being so small, while the screen on this is perfect for its size and intent. I did not have trouble seeing anything. So it doesn't light up, I'm thankful, that's one less battery to replace. The other complaint I read about the others is that they were loud. This one is not. My children playing with their toys doesn't disturb me though. If they are learning & interacting with the toy, I'm happy.
Another fun feature on this paticular "laptop" is that it has a working mouse. You can click to enter & move it slightly left or right or up & down (it is attached to the pad) to get to another activity or participate in one of the thirty plus fun games that offer pre-K learning & Kindergarten learing...find the shape that is bigger, etc... And yes I played with it to make sure everything worked correctly & to see what & how it would be teaching my children. It does teach & it has been fun for mine. It is a sturdy laptop with more bang for the buck than the rest of the other "laptops with many complaints" out there. You will be glad you purchased this for your little one. I have NO COMPLAINTS with this product. I also get involved with my children as much as I can to show them how learning can be fun. This purchase has been a smart one! Thank you Amazon!!! Go VTech !!!!

Purchased this for my 18 month old and she loves it! She just loves to press the buttons, but can definitely see the potential for her to learn her letters as she gets older. I do not like the number feature. It is too delayed. Overall a great beginning laptop.

Vtech Cars Lightning McQueen Learning Laptop Review

I own the princess carriage and the princess magic wand laptops by Vtech. My friend's 3 yr old son loved playing with them so she bought him this for his birthday. She is very dissappointed, and so is he. He trys to trade my girls for theirs. It is sturdy, but the wheel/mouse does not stay in place very well, it does not have a handle for carrying and while playing the games, the child has to type the answer and then hit enter each time. So, when compared to the princess version this one is not as fun. With the princess version all you have to to do is touch the screen with the wand or type the answer and it automatically responds. I am sure that an older child may enjoy the activities and be able to navigate through the games better. I would like to see one more like the princess one with a gender neutral theme.

This is a great toy for little ones who love music and playing like they are performing. My 18 month grandson really loves singing along with the music and he copies performers on music videos with this microphone. He is pretty rough on toys and this keeps on working no matter how hard it hits the floor. It is a great toy.

Vtech Tote and Go Pink Laptop Review

We bought this for our daughter about a year ago, and everyone in the house plays with it, her older and younger brothers both, and that means ages 2-5. It's held up beautifully, nothing wrong with it and it's been dragged all over the house (and car), fought over, and wrestled with and it's still going just fine.
As a plus, the mouse pad can either sit on a peg connected to the right side for easy travel stability, but for our left handed daughter, you just move it off the peg and move it on over. This is a huge plus for this system.

Barbie Island Princess Learning Laptop Review

Barbie Island Princess Learning Laptop
Average Reviews:

I just purchased this laptop for my 2 year-old at Target after seeing it on amazon.com. I was shocked at how small it is. It is really no more than 7 inches wide. The screen on the inside is probably about an inch and a half wide. The sound quality is very good, although there is no volume control and it is loud. The songs of course are very sweet and Barbie sounds exactly like she does in the movie. The numbers are hard to find, they are located in the peacock feathers and I was looking all over for them! I am going to take this toy back to Target. My daughter has been asking for a computer, but I think for her age she needs something bigger, with easier to find numbers.

Circo™ My Starter Laptop Review

My 12 month old loves pounding on his new toy. I expect that he'll tire of it quickly, though, as there's not much to do with it but push buttons and then hear the corresponding shape, or color along with a light flashing. My biggest problem with it is that the cyan/light blue heart says "indigo" when pushed (indigo is a dark purpley-blue color). I know it's not the end of the world, but a toy that teaches such simple concepts as colors and shapes, should at least have them right!
