It has some small detailed parts that are a lot more sturdy than they appear. So far the train has held up several falls and bangs. I would buy it again. We love it.

Brought up under instruction from Duke, Sir Handel is one of the oldest engines on the Narrow Gauge Railway. He generally is of the opinion that he knows it all and should be the boss. This occasionally leads him to have a tantrum or bad attitude. Still, he always gets the job done.

(More customer reviews)I purchased Mega Bloks Thomas Buildable Character Percy to give my grandson something to do when visiting my mother's (his great-grandmother) recently. This did the job I intended for it to do. He is 3 1/2 and is really into trains, especially Thomas. He also has an interest in building things. This combined his interests quite well.
ETA: I purchased 3 of these sets (Thomas, Emily and Percy). He played with them without any additional blocks, so additional blocks aren't necessary.

The remote is easy to handle and only has two buttons, forward and backward, however the train can go in circles when pressing the back button. The train makes a toot toot sound right before the train stops. Also plays the instrumental Thomas theme song, taught my son with Autism how to hum the song. No wires, sturdy, works indoors and outside, batteries last a long time, great price for a remote toy. Highly recommend!

(More customer reviews)This is a great game (options of tic tac toe or bingo) however probably is best for kids 3 and a half or older. It has a dice tower that is a pretty cool way to roll the dice, but it is made of cardboard and tore on one of the seams after just a few uses. Otherwise, the game seems very durable and a fun way to incorporate the Thomas characters into some common games.

Most of the past reviews were unfavorable, but I thought the toy was so cute and the idea of a Thomas the Train bath toy was great since my son loves Thomas. The idea is great, but the quality is poor. Here's why: The toy connects in pieces such that you have a floating Island of Sodor, and Thomas can ride up and down the track into a blue tower with an elevator mechanism. What doesn't work well is that the pieces don't fit well together so the island actually breaks apart when any slight pressure is placed upon the toy. And because the island doesn't stay together, the other parts like the tunnel don't stay on either. My son loves this toy, but we can't make it through bath time without it breaking apart. I am willing to attempt a repair just so we can keep playing with it, but you shouldn't have to do that. This toy is a great concept, but could have been made more durable.

(More customer reviews)My son just turned three and he got this as a birthday present. Harold makes a great addition to the Lego Thomas sets or he would be great on his own. The pieces are the perfect size for preschoolers' hands and they snap together easily. My son enjoys putting Harold together and loading cargo with the pully.
A fan of all things Thomas AND of anything with propellers, my son plays with Harold for hours. This toy encourages imaginative play and works well with other Duplo blocks. It's sturdy and fun. Highly recommended!

Thomas And Friends Wooden Railway - Whiff Review

(More customer reviews)We watch Thomas once in a while and play with the wooden railway every day. My son saw the episode with Whiff and loved it. He finds Whiff hilarious (I am not really sure why--maybe the glasses and/or his voice)? He really loves Whiff; the only other tv character he really loves and interacts with is Dora the Explorer, and he likes Whiff just as much as Dora. The episode's message is a good one (Emily tries to avoid Whiff, whom she is supposed to help haul garbage, because the other engines make fun of him--and her by association--because he is a garbage train...then she realizes Whiff is her friend and apologizes for avoiding him). My son has only a few trains (they are quite pricey) and this is one that was a must for his small collection! These trains are really well made, they stand up to a lot of abuse, and they do a good job of promoting open-ended play.

Whiff is a cheery, little tank engine with a very special job: he collects rubbish! He has a look and smell all his own! Whiff doesn't care too much about appearance. He's splodgy green and brown: the result of being patched up and painted over without attention to detail or color charts. He frequently puffs round the Island festooned with bits of rubbish that get stuck on his engine, as he biffs and bashes. None of this matters to Whiff. What matters to Whiff is getting his job done and getting it done well. He loves collecting rubbish and doesn't notice the turned up noses he passes along the way. You can't help but like Whiff. He's a little engine with a big heart. And really, really useful! Vehicle includes a character card explaining the unique personality and job on Sodor. Vehicles aid in developing fine motor skills, color identification and counting skills. Measures 1.5"L x 5.5" W x 5"H.

(More customer reviews)Just bought this for my 4 year old who LOVES Thomas. He's been so excited about it! The tracks were kind of hard to keep together since the oval it created wasn't exact. There were tracks that stick up at the joints because of this. It didn't seem to matter much since the whole track is supposed to be bumpy and at least it stayed together pretty well. Thomas does get stuck and jumps off the tracks on occasion but that seems to add to the fun of it. The bridge rails that fall down are easy to put back up. It was his first motorized Thomas and he is very happy with it.

We preferred to spend more money on a nice train set, and save some cash by getting a lower-end table. The pros are that it is very roomy and has a storage drawer which accommodates our 130-piece set. The cons are that it is already showing several scuff marks on the white paint, and it's only a month old. It was extremely easy to assemble, and took about 30-45 minutes. Note that it is quite low to the ground. Our two-year-old has to be on his knees to play with it. So, if you're looking for a table that your child can stand at, this one's not for you.

(More customer reviews)Mega Bloks could have done much better in designing this toy. Once put together, it is sooo fragile that one cannot play but a few minutes before it falls apart. Just the pressure you place on opening the gate (to let Thomas off the farris wheel) causes the structure to collapse. I'm considering using super glue just so the toy can be enjoyed by my children. Not worth the money.
