(More customer reviews)These puppets are very sweet, and much more durable than I expected. They are small enough for a child's hands to manipulate and stretchy enough for adult's hands. An absolute bargain at $10!

Long Neckers Matching and Stacking Game Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought this for my five-year-old niece - she loves giraffes so I thought she might enjoy it. It turned out to be a really fun game and easy to play right out of the box. I'll be truthful, sometimes I try to play games with her and I'm bored out of my mind...this wasn't like that at all. It's a game that's fun for the kids to play together, but also for adults to play WITH kids. The general idea is that you spin to choose pieces of the giraffe's neck and stack to see who gets the highest giraffe. There are lots of ways to adapt the game to extend play...plus the girls had fun just goofing around with the game pieces.

Fisher-Price Backyardigans Pirate Tub Time Adventure Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My kids (2 & 5) are big fans of the Backyardigans, especially the Pirate adventure episode. (Confession time: Mom & Dad are rather fond of that episode too. "Argh!")
They really enjoy the Pirate Tub Time Adventure playset. It's quite a tub-worthy vessel. The only problems are (1) the mast does not snap firmly into the base, so it's always falling off and (2) only Captain Uniqua and Captain Pablo are included. The wee maties missed Captains Tyrone and Austin.

Fisher-Price Little People Noah's Ark Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I love this toy and, more importantly, my kids love it! I noticed in other reviews some complained about the new design and the fuzzy animals but I bought and received the original Noah's Ark, not the Touch and Feel version. Thank goodness! These are easy to clean and I appreciate that this toy does not make noise or light up. My only real complaint is not with the toy but with the product listing here on Amazon. The product features section does not specifically list what is included and the item picture is not in its package. Add in the reviews that seem to be talking about a different product (the Touch and Feel version) and I just wasn't sure what all came with this. I finally had to go to the Fisher-Price website to verify that this item includes the ark, Noah, 2 giraffes, 2 lions, 2 elephants and 2 zebras.

Little People Animal Sounds Farm Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I just can't say enough good things about the Fisher-Price Little People toys. The farm is no exception - another well-made, durable, go-to-it-every-5-minutes toy.
My 15 month old twins just got the farm from their grandparents (grandpa is a farmer), and they LOVE the toy. The animals, as with the other Little People sets, are easy to grasp and don't mind getting chewed on. The noises are fun, and they are already figuring out which animal goes with which sound. They dance to the music every time they play it, and even get a huge kick out of placing the extras (weathervane, windmill and scarecrow) around the farm.
This is another winner!

There are fun animal sounds in every "room" and even a charming animal tune. The food bin in the outdoor animal area changes from food to water when your toddler bats at it. The "merry-go-round area in the front takes the animals on a round-about ride, complete with an animal sing-along when your child "spins" the floor. Your child can also drop figures through the silo to send them racing down the side of the barn, or open and close the bard doors to activate animal sounds. Farm includes food cart and six figures: pig, cow, horse, sheep, chicken and Farmer Jed. Requires 3 "AA" alkaline batteries (not included).

(More customer reviews)This game is too complicated for the preschool age child it is intended for. It has too many steps and options for each play. My child does like just playing with the pieces and it is a bright and colorful game. We modify the rules to make playing easier.

International Playthings iPlay Interactive & Musical Animal Activity Ark Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My daughter got this toy for Christmas. She's currently 11 months old. She LOVES music and this toy has so many songs and sound making activities, it's crazy! She can push the buckets of fish to play longer nursery rhyme songs (which she dances to), there's the keyboard on top of the ark, and she can match up the animals to their respective places on the ark and hear the animal's "voices" (roar, moo, etc). There's a few other things that make sound too - pushing Noah plays a foghorn, turning the steer makes sound, and she can change the time on the clock. I also love the many little animals, they're the perfect size for her tiny hands and I can teach her their names at the same time. The ark also wobbles like a ship when it's pushed - everything about this toy is so fun for her!
I contemplated not getting this toy because of the reviews saying how loud the sound is. I quickly remedied this by tracing a circle out of clear packing tape the exact same size as the little circular speaker on the ark and taping it right over the speaker - this literally took me 2 minutes to do. It dampened the sound a little too much so I just left a tiny sliver of the speaker exposed. Since the tape is clear and pretty heavy duty, my daughter doesn't see it and would need to be very motivated to get it off - probably around the same time she outgrows this toy. It's PERFECT now!

LeapFrog Leapster Learning Game Scholastic Animal Genius Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)my 4yr old son loves 'go diego go' (about an 'animal scientist' who lives in the rainforest), but all the related games have seemed disappointingly cheesey ~ this one, though, makes him feel like he =is= diego!
this sort of game is why i bought the leapster in the first place! the graphics are amazing ~ rather realistic & not cartoony. you start off picking a habitat (woodlands, rainforest, ocean, grasslands, or artic) & then have to 'win' 5 animals to fill it up by playing the 4 different games (maze munch - negotiate a maze to get food for your animal; feature finder - classify & sort animals by physical features; matchomatic - match the animal with it's feature (eyes, skin, food, etc); scratch & see - figure out which animal is hiding by scratching off as little of it's cover as possible) after you've gotten enough points, you take a quiz on that particular animal & then get to see it in it's habitat. also, "animal alert" happens periodically where an animal is in the wrong habitat & you have to find it. i wish there was more consistency in the animals (i.e. games for grassland animals focussed on animals that actually live in the grasslands) & maybe a bit more flexible formula but all in all a =great= game that's very educational & not patronizing. also, excellant integration of using both the stylus & arrow keys. like all leapster titles there are different levels of play.
~*~without a doubt our absolute favorite title thus far & i really hope they make more like these!~*~

Mudpuppy Baby Animals Block Puzzle Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)We own both of the Melissa and Doug block puzzles and love them. This product is cardboard, compared to M&D's wooden blocks. The quality, art, box, etc. everything is inferior. Comes in a flimsy cardboard box and for the price, I'm very disappointed.

LeapFrog Fridge Wash & Go Magnetic Vehicle Set Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I was so excited when I came across this toy. My 3 year old son loved the farm version of this toy when he was younger. I have 18 month old twins who also love the farm version, so when I saw this item I thought this would be a perfect addition to our refrigerator toy collection. It is educational and entertaining. However, Leapfrog changed the materials used and this "car wash" is not as sturdy as the farm we have from three years ago. The magnet isn't very strong so the toy slides down the refrigerator door. This frustrates my children since they enjoy working on the puzzle while standing. I now give the toy to them while they sit in their highchairs. They enjoy making matches and the vehicles are quite cute. Overall, I still like the toy since it encourages problem solving. The music is also cute and isn't too loud. From recent pictures I've seen of the farm, it looks to me as if it is different from the version I have so I am not sure that the problem I described is limited to this variation of the toy.

BRIO Dachshund Pull Toy Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Among all the ride-ons and battery-powered toys at my granddaughter's first birthday party, this was the biggest hit. When it arrived, I was surprised that it was smaller than I expected (even though I'd read the description), but it was the perfect size for a 1-year-old -- and very popular with her older toddler cousins, as well. It ended up covered with cake frosting and ice cream, but we stuck it under the faucet and it looked as good as ever. A really nice, simple toy!

LeapFrog Spin and Sing Alphabet Zoo Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My ten-month old loves this toy. It has kept her attention longer then any other toy she owns. It has three musical settings which are pretty engaging to her. On one setting, the spinning of the ball is directly linked to the music, (the previous reviewer was right about it being one of the least annoying muzak in toydom), so when it stops spinning- so does the song. So my baby girl stops whatever she has wandered away to do and goes back and spins it again. And again. And again.
Oh, bonus: it has volume control.UPDATE: Three years later, baby girl #2 has proven how durable it is. She is somewhat more of a hard slapper then a spinner, but the little toy has held up well. I don't know what it is about this toy, but both my children really has gotten great use out of it.

Melissa & Doug Noah's Ark Shape Sorter Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)The ark & animals are very colorful and my 20 month old son loves playing with the animals and naming them.
The only problem is this really is NOT a shape sorter as the animals can be put in nearly any hole just by tipping them sideways. My son rarely puts them in the "right" hole as it is so easy just to put them all in one of the holes on the top. When we do try to put them in the "right" hole it is a challenge to get them in right as there really is no good way for little fingers to hold onto them and put them squarely in the hole.
Overall, great toy, but do not buy it if you are really looking for a shape sorter.

Learning Resources Jumbo Farm Animals, Set of 7 Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Great, great animal set! My 25 month old daughter is just NUTS about animals! Our 14 mo. old son likes them too- He's just learning animal names and these are a help.
1. Love that there is a good variety- horse, cow, sheep, goat, pig,
rooster, goose.
2. Animals are a nice size- perfect for little hands.
3. Even though they are a little big, our kids love to use them with the Little People Farm set.
4. Our kids like to play games with them- where is the rooster....? Or, because they are a good size we'll take something small, like a soup cracker or something and hide it under, on top of , beside, etc. an animal. Then ask, "where is the cracker? It's *under* the cow..."
The only con.... There is no wild animals set! We'd buy another set if they offered one.
